While most travellers returning from overseas have been put into mandatory hotel quarantine, it's been revealed Dannii Minogue was given an exemption. According to a report by 7NEWS on Monday, the 48-year-old singer and her 10-year-old son, Ethan, were granted an exemption on medical grounds. The pair will spend 14 days at the private home, instead of the usual 14-day stay at a hotel for returning travellers. The An explanation from the Queensland would not go astray. |

From 9 news Queensland's Chief Health officer has denied giving "special treatment" to singer Dannii Mingoue who is self-isolating in a private home instead of a hotel. The Australian returned from the United States over the weekend with her son, and instead of paying $2800 for mandatory hotel quarantine, she is staying in a Gold Coast residence.Chief Health Officer Jeannette Young said Minogue was given an exemption because she had "a COVID-safe plan manged by a third party". Dannii Minogue is still required to isolate for 14 days after returning from the US. (Jim Eddie) "There's no special treatment for anyone," Dr Young said. "The default arrangement in Queensland is if you don't have a COVID-safe plan or an industry plan or an exemption to hotel quarantine, then you go into hotel quarantine. "There are a large number of different groups that have exemptions to hotel quarantine. "For instance, consular officials, ADF personnel, people who work in the oil and gas industry ... people who work in specific film and entertainment industries." Related Dr Young said she had issued 38 similar exemptions to date. "They need to then quarantine in another place that I'm satisfied adheres to the same requirements," she said. Coronavirus: Queensland borders prepare to reopen Minogue is now expected to remain at the luxury property until her 14-day quarantine is up. Under the Queensland government's rules, all travellers coming in to the state from overseas must self-isolate for the two-week period at their own cost of $2800. While Minogue will escape the hotel quarantine fee, she will be subject to the same rules as everyone else while in quarantine. Dannii Minogue talks all things Logies She will not be allowed any visitors to the home and she and her son are not allowed to the leave. It is absolutely ridiculous that the media would try to turn this into a news story. The standard of journalism in Australia is abysmal. |

Who cares where she isolates, as long as she does, and even better not at the tax payers expense. Every person now entering the country should be paying for themselves and no excuses. If you can afford an overseas jaunt you can afford your isolation costs.

They do pay now AA .. I think we all jump to the conclusion that if they have medical reasons , not to isolate , then how are they fit enough to fly. Across half the world .
I Note the explanation and see it as fair enough. well explained. Horlicks |

Why are we still letting people in?
They should’ve returned months ago. Borders need to be closed to everyone. No ifs or buts. Should’ve come home when all this started.
