A few strange decisions on what horses to keep and what to move on.

Lloyd keeps Yarrawonga, whose only local run was 11th of 14 in a BM64 at Swan Hill.

But offloads Verimli, who was the only horse of his with any semblance of form this spring. With a 2nd to Saracen Knight in the RM Ansett Classic & a 3rd to High Emocean in the Bendigo Cup.

Hopefully Verimli goes to an astute trainer.  He’d be the type to aim at races like the Hobart & Launceston Cups, plus maybe an Adelaide Cup.

Yarrawonga is now in work with Gai too, very interesting.

Nelson is an interesting prospect, 4 starts ago he was beaten 4.5 lengths by Enable *although that was in 2018. Only races once in 2019, not sighted in 2020 and then raced twice in early 2021 and has been spelling now for almost 2 years. Rising 9yo by Frankel who has only had 15 starts, could be a handy pick up for someone.

I'm under the impression his are structurally worn out as very, very few go on to recoup their ex Williams sale price.
Wisdom has been chasing me but I've always outrun it!

Can’t agree with this Gay, there’s quite a lot of examples where they have once transferred to proper trainers.

Darren Freyer Bloodstock has bought Akzar, High Church and Saracen Knight off Lloyd and won plenty of prize money with all 3.  His latest purchase Cormorant is running well under Maddie Raymond and has his hoof on the till for a win too soon.

The best recent example is Port Phillip who was bought off Lloyd for $85,000 by Julius Sandhu.  Since won nearly $250,000 with 4 wins from only 7 starts.

I suspect Lloyd would be happy to see them head elsewhere and succeed at lower levels, as we all know team Williams are only interested in winning the Cup so a model where they can on-sell those who are not to the standard they want and those on-sold are productive for the new owners is a good thing for them.

Belmont Avenue makes his debut for Aaron Bain today in R5 at Murray Bridge.

Turn it up Bonjour,  Lloyd is into his eighties, with no prospects of losing his money, unlike a few on TBV, who believe they will strike their fortune by winning Lotto or picking up a pokies jackpot.

Watched him struggling down the running at Sandown last week , hitting the ground hard and no fluency in his action , he's better of retired , so cut your losses mate . Wink

I notice that Post Impressionist trained by William Haggas is racing in Lloyds colours this weekend in the Manion Cup.

Anyone know if Lloyd owned this horse in the UK? Or is he a new acquisition?

First run under Lloyd's ownership. Was previously owned by R Green according to recent racenet article. Sale was negotiated privately. He's here for the Sydney Cup.
