I thought this guys first run for the autumn was pretty good, he was stretching out nicely through the line behind very hot opposition.

He wasn’t up to G1 class last spring, but if the stable places him to advantage, there’s wins in store for him.

Think he’d be a nice horse for a Brisbane winter carnival campaign consisting of a Hollindale Cup, Doomben Cup & then the Q22 Stks.

With much of the Brisbane carnival cancelled last year, I think many trainers have forgotten about the massive prizemoney up there.  That Q22 race is a 2200m WFA race worth $1.2m!

Hello,
enjoyable news from my homecountry.

A close relative was recently foaled of "Master of Wine" (Maxios).
It's yet unnamed, but is from Oasis Dream o/o Magma by Dubai Destination.

regards, Ticino

Any chance he’s a sleeper in the Rawson Stks today?

It would be bold to suggest he could knock off VE & Addeybb, but will definitely include him in box trifecta.

Can run well today. A little bit each way.
Australian racing is only good up to 1400m in terms of world standards when it comes to depth/quality in numbers

Backing up on Sat in the Neville Sellwood Stks over 2000m.

Could have been a live chance in the Tancred if he wen there, but they’ve stuck to the easier race.

Only has 55.5kg under SW+P conditions, so surely wins this?

Really disappointing yesterday.

I thought the drop in grade & the weight conditions he’d be a special.

Looked pretty dour in the straight , so really needing to find a 2200-2400m race now.  Not sure when the next suitable one is, maybe in Brisbane

The way he finished the Ranvet I thought he was looking for 2400m then.

Like you I thought the drop in grade would help but could not have him at those odds.

Now in the spelling paddock, after only 3 autumn starts.

Stable must have found something wrong with him, as there would have been heaps of suitable races in Qld winter for him otherwise.

The Sydney Cup would have been perfect for him off last Saturdays run.

Be interesting to see if they disclose any issues.

“Rising star Master Of Wine is capable of winning the Caulfield Cup, Cox Plate and Melbourne Cup all in the same year”

That’s a quote from a professional form analyst from last year.

Has the ‘window’ closed for this guy to win a good race?  This time last year he was just behind the placings in a few G1’s.  After a mixed autumn, his 2 efforts this time have been fine without being flashing light runs.

Currently 20/1 in the Kingston Town Stks 2000m.  Anyone interested in him tomorrow?

Reckon they will scratch him tomorrow.

They have scratched Zeyrek from Caulfield tomorrow and if he gets a run at Randwick he will jump from gate 1.

If he shows something in his next start, I can see him taking the Maluckyday route to Melbournme through the City Tatt's Cup, and I think that is his level.

Maybe even the St Leger.

Showed absolutely zero in the straight today, really pedestrian effort.

He’s regressed massively in the last 12 months.  Probably needs a change of scenery with a specialist staying trainer to spark something for him.

Send him down to Lindsey Smith or Symon Wilde at the Bool and get him over a few logs.

Uuuughhh, after sacking him after last start, I felt sick seeing the $8.00 place dividend on screen Dead

I think today’s G3 placing actually sees him pass the ballot clause for the Melb Cup, so he should shoot you the order of entry to somewhere in the mid-30’s.  With a little attrition above him, he may actually make the field.

Noticed on Racing Australia website that this much hyped gelding is now Retired status.

Not sure if he was not good enough, poorly campaigned by the Hawkes yard or had injury niggles (or a combination of all these) but certainly didn’t live up to the early promise of spring 2019 & autumn 2020.

The reason form students were saying what has been posted here, back in 2020 was that that 2020 autumn form was awesome, a little like Incentivise's form last autumn/winter, coming through his grades.
