should have listened to the jockey who said that the horse keeps on choking down the start before. this was the first time with a tongue tie on. I have also always thought that he got nervous when horses were running on the outside of him (like his mother) so I think he got the kind of run that he preferred.

still have his brother though who has better conformation, stronger looking and is mentally tougher. Zapluck is the kind gentle kids pony type and his younger brother is the leader of the herd type who doesn't get frightened by other horses. so hopefully the next one is better :)
