How about this filly, Lot 1236 from MM?  Don't you just love her under-run heels, purchased mind you by a team that prides and advertises itself as only purchasing elite physical specimens.  And believe me far from the only similar offering from Eureka Stud, including a Puissance de Lune yearling posted and commented on in the conformation thread.

That's unforgiveable when selling at such an elite sale Angry There's nothing wrong with the hinds but those fronts look to have been on for 2mths & if less, were far too long when the plates/shoes were applied Angry
How to set them up for failure Ouch

The Freedman voice-over is absolutely cringeworthy: but for this, but for that...(ie if your auntie had balls she'd be....).  Didn't much like the way he dropped behind at the walk, even if the Sir T's sometimes did without affecting performance.

But probably worth about what was paid fwiw AA.

Hope a few others have some input as keen to know a bit more about him.  I do agree re the Freedmans input tho.  Richard always makes me cringe.

Bloodbath, some lovely well grown horses, some decent pedigree pages too, but its a bloody disaster, vendors looking very forlorn.

Gosh we're up to Lot 174 and there has been some absolutely lovely horses through and they've gone for sweet bugger all, some of the first season sires are struggling, Jungle Cat especially, it's a real battle here.

Just wondered why Jungle cat is on the nose , he was a stallion I quite  like as a cross here ,any way time will tell .

It's a 4th or 5th tier sale mate, some more than ok but most not good enough for the Jan MM sale where 1300 were accepted in front of them.  Selling like the bottom 20-30% did at at Adelaide and similar to what'll be the case at the forthcoming Inglis Gold Sale in Melbourne.  The top end is fine, the middle market is "just" and the lower end is struggling as it should given the lack of pedigree and the current economic climate.
Just imo. Smile

I'm surprised so many breeders believe they can make money on their non commercially bred or conformed youngsters, year after year!
No wonder the TB horsemeat market's so lucrative, the pleasure industry has no hope of successfully absorbing even a small percentage of the annual 'rejects' turnover Cry

What distorts things is it's the ''QTS'' sale, and the QTS bonus's are pretty damn good, especially for fillies.

So what makes it special value id some are Bob's and QTS qualified, some are fully paid up, when you sum it all up, we should all be there, I bet QLD trainers love this sale.

Be interesting to see if you're proved right Goldey.  It'd certainly fly in the face of his pedigree.

It's almost 1pm and the sale has gone up a tad, as is always the case here in the sun, the alcohol has kicked in and buying a horse is now front and centre, some realistic money now, what happened during the morning is a conundrum .........

Bit of a story here.  The moment she was passed in contacted MM and asked to be notified in the event she was later sold.  Still haven't heard from them.  But also was quick to call Chris Watson, General Manager at Mill Park which offered her.  "Just sold her to Henry Dwyer.  She's on the small side but no faults and had excellent scope and X-rays".  Said the breeder was disappointed with the price but needed to meet the market.  So immediately on to Henry.  "Wasn't on my list because I thought she might bring close to $200k, so at that price couldn't resist".  And said I had first dibs for a share, costings to follow by email.  Another day, another mouth to feed.

Here's a photo taken just the other day, for those who'd follow her progress.  Still immature as Taxi-Driver suggested but more than happy with her, particularly given she has a "challenging" attitude which I just love in fillies.

She looks to have come up a bit in front and looking stronger all over SC. Always nice when they progress forwards after the sales instead of falling in a heap!
Is she broken in now, or just starting that stage?

Thanks for the interest VSP.  Thumbs Up

She's been to the breakers however they recently pulled the pin about half-way through as she'd become mentally tired.  Four to six weeks in the paddock and she'll then resume her education.

Last year 271 sold 96 passed $575K top $53K Ave $30K Median $14,387,000 Gross 73.84 clearance
2021 432 lots 265 sold 114 passed $500K top $56K ave $35K Median $15,068,000 Gross 69.92% clearance

So I think this sale is pretty much the same but with a top price which might be altering a few bad stats.

the ones injured who didn't make their earlier sales and the ones who usually bring the money.  The rest are the leftovers who struggle.

It is also the QTIS sale so the majority will be QTIS registered and eligible for the bonus race at the same time as the sale, apart from the cyclone this year of course
