these are bad signs but I am not surprised one bit, you cannot take from the wild and expect there will always be fish.
Humans are stupid, learn to preserve your food stocks and environments or die out simple. Carl. |

Reflective reason why I wouldn’t do it today, older and more compassionate about animals. Pigs get way too many diseases for any form of consumption |

Carl, I watched the series about eating feral pests (of course I did
). Again I’m astounded that human beings in this day and age can’t come up with a viable, humane solution (e.g. contraception) yet the ‘beauty’ and ‘wellness’ and Big Food industries etc are growing exponentially

Gallops and Harness are aligned.
Gallops and Hunting/Fishing should be aligned. The same people that will come for shutdown of one will come for shutdown of the other. Not sure the need for racing people to bring into question Hunting/Fishing.

Totally different kettles of fish (yes deliberate
), IMHO HG.We don’t race horses with the sole purpose of killing them.

I do carnivore diet, and obviously am not opposed the ethical killing of animals bred for food.
Killing animals to get your rocks off is another matter and I dont see where that intersects with racing.

Apologies for the triggering, stayer. That is sickening. FWIW my understanding is mate’s dogs are never trained to kill - they flush out the pigs, chase and bring them down. The hunter makes the kill; in his case, as quickly and humanely as possible. Would be good if Shammy popped in here. He has hunting dogs and would be able to inform us. It’s a hard topic to talk about, for sure. But good to discuss openly.

Who are the orgs that will campaign against Hunting & Fishing?
Who are the orgs that will campaign against Racing? They are the same. Is there some pricks among hunters and fishers that give others a bad name? Yes Is the some pricks among trainers that give others a bad name? Yes

Sorry, hunting for no reason other than to satisfy your big, stupid, ego is fine, my mistake.
Now they will not go after horse racing cos they take so much notice of random posters on a forum, slippery slope

100% agree. Am against this suggested change in hunting licences for them to go shooting in Nat Parks. Shooting for fun is sick. But those pigs. OMG. Friends had one up New England once, a boar, and it was the size of a shetland pony with huge tusks. Would never have believed they got so big if I hadnt seen this one.

My mate the fly fishing guide also hunts pigs with a bow & arrow.
He “stuck” a boar some years ago, it charged him and gored his calf. He had to scramble up a tree to save himself. Bad calf wound which became infected and he nearly lost his leg. I told him I had absolutely no sympathy for him. For a bloke who catches 1,000’s of trout a year and releases almost all of them…it pi$$ed me right off. And I told him. |

That is why Jewish dietary laws, direct from God
, were so clever for their time. |

Racing animals has only one purpose.....for people to gamble |
