Proof was provided regards the cheering on of the attempted murder of Trump. In fact, the offenders doubled down, gleefully

Former SAS soldier Ben Roberts-Smith loses appeal over war crimes judgment


Former SAS soldier Ben Roberts-Smith has lost his bid to overturn a landmark decision that found he committed war crimes in Afghanistan.

The former Special Air Service corporal claimed Federal Court Justice Anthony Besanko fell into legal error in a damning decision in 2023 that dismissed his multimillion-dollar defamation case against The Age and The Sydney Morning Herald.  “Following a 110-day trial and a 726-page judgment, the appellant’s appeal was heard over 10 days,” Perram said.

“Justices Katzmann, Kennett and myself are unanimously of the view that the appeal should be dismissed.”

Roberts-Smith was also ordered to pay the Newspapers’ legal costs.

The High Court has thrown out Ben Roberts-Smith’s bid to appeal against his damning defamation loss, putting an end to seven years of litigation costing tens of millions of dollars.

On Thursday, the nation’s highest court refused the former Special Air Service corporal’s application for special leave to appeal against a decision of the Full Court of the Federal Court, which had rejected his bid to overturn a decision that found he had committed war crimes.
