I dont understand scalping tickets.

The AFL, tickets are selling at illegal prices over ebay and gumtree etc.
The law being, tickets are only allowed to be re-sold, at 10% higher than face value.

When a ticket is selling at an illegal price, the ticket still has the code and seat number.
The organiser of the event, in the case the AFL, all they have to do is make that ticket "void", cancel the seat, then re-open the seat with new coding, on a whole new ticket.

Simples.

Hmm- don't know. This one looks a bargain if AFL is your thing. 4 GF tickets sold below cost price.

Show me a scalper listing on eBay.

If you have a ticket and for whatever reason, you cant or dont want to go, how do they stop you selling your ticket privately, and how do they stop you selling at only 10% premium?

Really only aimed at ''professional'' scalpers who buy blocks of tickets and try to profit from them.

Simples

There needs to be a phoneline/link, where you enter the seat number being sold, to find out if the ticket has been made null and void by the event organiser.
If the event organiser has deemed that the ticket is being sold for too much, they cancel that seat and make a new ticket available.
But the public has a link/phone line, to contact first to find out if the ticket has been invalid, thus avoid paying for an invalid ticket.
