Well Snitzel throws different types so did Mr Prospector.  That doesn't stop them.  Helmet is a mystery.  He definately works better overseas but then even Exceed and Excel in recent years has been better overseas.  Maybe we just have too many lines of Danehill and Redoute's and Fastnet's lines are superior in Australia although Exceed and Excel is starting to show up as broodmare sire.

Maybe the Exceed and Excel line tends towards hotter than average to handle and that is too hot for many Australian trainers - especially those using mass production tactics - yet works well with European training techniques.

Interesting call Mumtaz.  Particularly as Helmet is a bit of a nutter and we see his stock doing well in the NH.

Banished for 2018. A real enigma this one. One that should have made it but didn't.
Never mind the hot headed talk. He should have still had some very decent horses with the amount and quality of mares he covered.
Luckily I didn't use him but those who did early on and sold, did well.
I always wanted to use him but never quite did.
A shame but then that's breeding.

And again.

So frustrating that his goose is cooked here in Aus. Not for the sheikh (kiss him, he’s got plenty & is likely to finish his run as one of the worst blokes in history), but for the local industry. You deadset can’t give them away this year.

Hello,
I'm not sure, whether I have already posted following info. For the second time, Helmet stands at the Fahrhof stud in 2019, near Bremen, in Germany. His fee is set at 9.000 Euros (~ 13.500 AUS $). Fot mor Information see their Website: faehrhof.de

His best offspring in Germany last season: Peace of Paris, Helmet - Peace of Glory by Sholokhov
(2 year old) and Yaa Salaam - Ya Hajar by Lycius (4 year old)

Hope I could help.

regards from Germany; Ticino
