Anyone seen him? Or have a mare in foal? He matches my mare on enicks with a Q8 rating, and I like the look of him on his page.

The foal will be kept and raced ourselves, but if a filly, need her to be by a stallion that people are not put off of, should her foals ever be sold etc.

I'm one of those who've taken a punt on him. A friend who's had many more years experience than I've had in this business and whose opinion I respect enormously says Arlington still rates as the best looking yearling he's ever seen. He was a $1.5m yearling - which in itself doesn't guarantee anything. But if he can approach anything like the achievements at stud that his half brother Savabeel is reaching then he'll be a success. You can look at his record and say he didn't win a G1 or he didn't reach the heights expected of him, but he raced on until he was a 7yo, on both sides of the Tasman, against top company much of the time, and he was very sound. Might he have won bigger and better races if he'd been with a different trainer? That's an argument that I've heard. I saw him late last year when he'd served 100 mares and he hadn't had much of a break after coming straight out of the stables at Randwick. He will let down into a magnificent stallion, I'm sure. At the price - the 2012 price, anyway - I see him as a very low risk option with a chance that he'll stamp his foals with his own good looks and reward those who take the gamble. We'll see what happens in 3 months when those first foals hit the ground.
And, by the way, several people told me Arlington was an extremely professional stallion when it came to covering mares - no problems, knew exactly what needed to happen, and got the job done with a very high first strike fertility rate.

Thanks Ringlock.

Its for the mare I purchased today, Insomniac. It will be her last foal if she goes in foal (shes still cycling - so looking good).

I agree with Ringlock, Arlinngton is a very beautiful stallion, he is a classic looking TB, I have seen a recent picture of him which I will try and post soon.
I also have a mare in foal to him, due very late in the season, it was a last minute decision. I hope he will be as good Savabeel is a sire.

Were you to get a colt, I doubt he'd be commercial Confused

I really like Arlington and I think he is a chance of being commercial for canny breeders with a nice mare with blacktype under the first dam (like Insomniac). He is a stunning type, if he can pass on his masculinity to his colts and they are from a good family he will kick a goal in the first season or two. Then he might struggle till he gets runners.

Very nice stallion for breed to racers I reckon.

That would be great, they only have 1 of him on the Lincoln website, wich obviously hasn't been updated since the new year.

Arlington features on this week's edition of Bred to Win on Sky. Just watched it. Looks terrific - I saw him late in 2012 when he'd finished his first season at stud and he's now developed into a magnificent stallion.Looking forward to seeing his first foals.

Great deal on him this season, if you send a mare to him and pay the fee, the foal if not wanted by you at weaning will be bought back at double the service fee you have agreed on. See the Lincoln website for the details.

Early reports on early foals are all good. I haven't seen any myself but the feedback on the first foals is very positive.

I have 3 foals by him born late Sept, from 3 very differently bred mares. All very nice foals, nicely made with great legs. I have seen about 20 others, all good looking types and all bays and browns with very little white, not a single chestnut (interesting he is stamping them, he must be a genetic EE). I have 2 bays, one each filly and colt and a big black colt with a white blaze. Stunning type. Very happy here on looks and temperaments.

Very sad, my maiden mare slipped her Arlington foal, despite monthly hydroxy p 500!

First Arlington 2-year-old to appear in public is Kingston, trained by Gai. Showed abundant speed in the trial at Randwick this morning, led by lengths and wasn't pushed at all going to the line alongside the other two runners. Promising.
