As an aside, bet365 insulted me yesterday.
I think I’m on account no 7 with them,
They let me have $80 on Anamoe @ $2.50

I saw an article that said that men who bet on horses are smarter than those who dont.

They obviously didn't read Joffs.

12 Oct 2022 — Summary: The higher a man's IQ, the more likely he is to partake in betting on horse races, a new study concludes.

LOL what kind of dumb ass study is that LOL

I'd suggest that study has forgotten to take ones earnings, the higher wage and better job would suggest more disposable income and therefore person has better brains cause they have high paying job. But then we have the old geezers who speak broken english, with small fat fingers, who are hanging out at the betting shop all day, who worked as labourers all their lives punting on everything.

I would have thought the bonus bets would just go into the pool as regular cash, wouldn't this apply across all dividends if bonus bets had led to a reduction?
Yes I've heard that argument above re Flexi - however not sure how it differs mathematically. Surely the % rake is the % rake regardless of winning combinations. However, there may be more to it

I think it may well impact all tote dividends. There is no doubt to me that the Fixed Offer - esp in small fields & with the more favoured runners - is reduced to take into account the bonus bet money to be placed. So many people actually bet to get their stake back as a bonus bet these days - which I find a bit odd.

I'm not sure what TAB would be doing wrong not including the the bonus investment as part of the pool.

Not unlike the declaration of Dividends & Jackpot pools. All smokes & mirrors used to deceive punters into thinking those huge Exotic Dividends & Jackpots are actually being won

I think the theory is that flexi-betting allows people to throw more longer shots in than they would have in previous times, of course it can never be proven or disproven as we can't run the same race in the two different eras and no doubt the average Saturday afternoon punter at the pub will take his default position that they are disadvantaged now.  LOL

can you use a BB on tote products?

I can’t see how that would tolerable for TAB.

When you use a bonus bet, you don’t get the stake back.
But if it goes in a Pari mutual pool, then you would get the stake back, wouldn’t you?

I've never bothered to look into it to that depth but thats an interesting question, because if you back the winner with your bonus bet the TAB get their cash back because they don't return your stake but if you back a loser, they'll only get their % out of your original stake but split the rest out amongst those who backed the winner and we all know the TAB aren't giving freebies away

The data did not include women as only men in Finland are required by law to complete military service and take an IQ test.  bit sexist innit Smile

I just spent a few minutes "deep diving"" the TAB website re Bonus Bets. Even though the tern is regularly used on their Promotions page - no where is it defined what it is & how it works. Tried the Frequent Q & A page - zippo - tried Searching = "no results found"

Unbelievable actually ! - but not surprised !
