Is George a saint yet?
Apparently it's a miracle he wasn't busted for protecting pedos. How many miracles do you need for sainthood? |

Victims of sex abuse by Pell receive compensation under redress schemeTwo men abused by the late Cardinal George Pell in the 1970s have been granted compensation, with one offered $45,000 just weeks before Pell’s death in 2022. One of the men was offered a payment just five weeks before Pell died, in January 2023, after it was accepted by the scheme that he was groped on the genitals by Pell at a public swimming pool in Ballarat. The other victim received compensation after the scheme was persuaded Pell had raped the then nine-year-old student at Ballarat’s St Francis Xavier Primary School. |

Actually no Fiddle, just going in to bat for a man that died innocent in the eyes of many, including the law, I'm sorry if that triggers you.

Understanding the Burden of Proof in the NRSThe burden of proof refers to how much evidence is required to establish that abuse occurred. In the context of the National Redress Scheme, the burden of proof is “reasonable likelihood”. This standard is considerably lower than the “balance of probabilities” used in civil cases or the “beyond reasonable doubt” standard in criminal trials.
What Kind of Evidence is Needed? The NRS does not require survivors to provide extensive evidence. Many survivors may not have official records or documentation to support their claims, and the scheme acknowledges this reality. Evidence may include:
The focus is on credibility and consistency in the survivor’s statement rather than demanding conclusive proof. If there are any records or evidence that corroborate the survivor’s account, these will strengthen the claim, but they are not essential. How the NRS Assesses ClaimsClaims are assessed by independent decision-makers within the NRS. Their role is to evaluate the information provided and determine whether it meets the “reasonable likelihood” standard. The assessors:
Importantly, survivors do not need to appear in person or provide testimony, and there is no cross-examination like in a court setting. This helps reduce the stress and trauma associated with recounting the abuse. |

You can all believe what you like. For right or wrong.
However to my mind he most likely assaulted minors during his time in Ballarat. And why not, at least three serving priests in the diocese have been found guilty of doing just that: two before later being moved on, by a promoted Pell it needs be said and which has been accepted in Law, to commit even more sodomy. A pox on his memory.

Pell aside, if you're only given 95 grand after being presumably anally raped as a 9 y/o ("my bottom was bleeding afterwards"), what the hell constitutes a full 150 grand??? I mean that seriously.
