   I used to lug around a huge Nikon with a big lense, for years, until my shoulder just couldnt cope anymore.  When we started doing the long overseas trips I bought a Nikon so small it fits in my handbag.  ( Admittedly the hand bag is a bit of a junk carrier size ),  but it made things so much easier. The only thing I wish it had was a view finder, instead of the square glass viewer.  But it does good enough for me.
