Too bad she drew poorly in the Diamond. She would have went very close.
Awesome horse. Hope to see her back. |

I agree, i was on her and thought she was very unlucky. Was the only horse to stick on from up front and your right, if she drew to the inside she would of gone even closer.

Talented horse thats for sure. But i'm looking forward to the return of Sienna's Fury and some more antics from the owner. That's one of the better moments of 2008.

Believe'n'Succeed a daughter of Exceed and Excel (dam of Bounding) is now at stud in England and her son Anthony Van Dyck won the Derby Trial Stakes over 1 mile 3 1/2f overnight. Now how many Exceed and Excels do we think to send out over a distance in Australia. Some barely make it to 1200m. This one won by 2 1/4 lens. Hope it can run well in the big one.

Can't find it but reported him winning a lead up to the Derby. Boy they get out sprinters to stay and we get their stayers to sprint. Then they get a Elvstroem to place in a two year old stakes event and we haven't had much from him in seasons. We really are a world apart in how horses are trained.

Yes but even 1400m in Australia is a test for a Exceed and Excel. Their tracks are testing to say the least and they get quite a few out over a distance. Not just this one. Sure most are sprinters.
Nothing wrong with speed. All the greats started out over a lesser trip and won there before going on to a distance. Mind you he did start in a 7f race but finished 7th of 10 before he won over a mile trip before his run of four 7f runs for G3 win, G2 win, G1 second, G1 third and the a 9th over a mile. Then a listed win over 1m 3 1/2f before this win in the Derby. You can't say that they didn't run him as a two year old he had seven starts. We are hardly even running out sprinting two year olds that much.

I have absolutely no issue with horses being thoroughly tested as 2yos. It is as they get older that is pisses me off. That said you could see early on that he was looking for a trip as a 2yo. Notice he kicked him off as a 3yo over 2300m. |
