Today I farewell my husband of 39 years.  Too young and too fast we only knew he had something wrong when he had a seizure on the 29th September.  He died at home where he wanted to be after being bed ridden for over a month.  I don't know what I'm doing or if i'm coping at all.  I just want him back healthy and happy.  I'm not sure how I'll get though his funeral today or if I'll be here much.  Everything is grey and sort of not mattering at the moment.   But I just wanted to thank everyone for their kind thoughts when he first became ill.  He was a special man who supported me no matter what.

I know they were childhood sweethearts, and it lasted all thru their marriage.    A true love match.
Makes it so hard when one goes and leaves you.

Chris was my diamond.  Diamonds are forever but sometimes forever isn’t enough.  Chris came into my life when I was only a teenager.  Mad keen on horses he was kind enough to take me horse riding.  Although he wasn’t ever really interested in them.  Still at our wedding Dad said he was glad Chris waited for me to grow up.  Little did Dad know I’m still waiting to grow up.  Chris was my strength and supporter.  He gave me courage which I never had much of.  He was so much gentler with me than he was with himself.  Because my Husband was a perfectionist.  He didn’t like it when he didn’t live up to his ideal.  Didn’t matter if I messed up he needed to be the best he could.  So when his mind refused to help him he was very confused and upset with himself and instead of checking himself out with the doctors he just tried to fix it himself.  But this sinister disease isn’t something even the doctors can yet control.  So I wish he could have been gentler with himself.  He took the news very calmly only fearing for me.  As expected I went to pieces.  So he used his strength trying to console me!  Diamonds are forever and I’ll never let him go.  He gave me six wonderful children to make sure I’ll never have to face the world alone but without him it won’t be the same.

So sad to hear of your loss furious, but wonderful to hear you speak in such emotive terms of the enduring love you and your husband shared - you can take solace in the fact that with that, you have both been fortunate to experience something special that many people never do ... Heart
In reference to every post in the Trump thread ... "There may have been a tiny bit of license taken there" ... Ok, Thanks for the "heads up" PT!
