Brilliant Group 1-winning two-year-old Henry Longfellow will shuttle to Victoria's Rosemont Stud in 2025, the farm confirmed on Wednesday evening.

Bred by Coolmore, Henry Longfellow is a son of champion sire of sires Dubawi - just like emerging sire sensation Too Darn Hot - and out of Galileo's seven-time G1 winner Minding.

Under the care of Aidan O'Brien, the colt won the G1 National Stakes and was undefeated at two, before he was placed in the G1 St James' Palace Stakes and G1 Prix du Moulin de Longchamp at three.

Rosemont Stud's Anthony Mithen said Henry Longfellow's acquisition is a coup for the farm and the broader Victorian industry.

He said the availability of a G1-winnng son of Dubawi for Victorian breeders, particularly given the success of Darley's Too Darn Hot in four seasons at stud in the Hunter Valley, is exciting.

"If ever there was a colt bred and destined for greatness, it is Henry Longfellow," Mithen said.

"Like Too Darn Hot, who we have strongly supported in 2024, he is a highly rated, Group 1-winning two-year-old by the world's number one sire of sires, Dubawi, and from a phenomenal female family.

"Sons of Dubawi have really set the industry alight and his legacy as a breed-shaping stallion is proving every post a winner, with eight of his sons having already sired Group 1 winners of their own, including Night Of Thunder, Too Darn Hot, Zarak and New Bay.

"Given the two-year-old impact of stallions such as Too Darn Hot and Night Of Thunder - also out of a Galileo mare - have had in Australia, particularly with Danehill-line mares, it made sense for us to target a high-quality two-year-old son of Dubawi to stand in Victoria.

"Henry Longfellow ended the 2023 season second only to City Of Troy as Europe's highest-rated two-year-old. His Timeform Rating of 120+ compares equally to Australia's best two-year-olds in recent years, including Shinzo (120), Farnan (122), Anamoe (120+) and Stay Inside (122+)."

Henry Longfellow will stand in Australia at an introductory service fee of $22,000 (including GST).

I am excited I must say, only 22k. If my current foals go well from my Broodmare, I would be tempted to go to Henry Longfellow, as we do not have a lot of Dubawi or Galileo here, and sending a Danehill line mare is basically what happens in Europe.
