Sounds similar to strawberries Romanoff with ice cream.

Oneone? We might have more in common than you think!

I’ve never eaten black pudding and I’ll bet you haven’t either.

Yep, my wife was born in Scotland (Penicuick - near Edinburgh)

So back to lacteezes.

I am 100% lactose intolerant. Not that unusual - pretty common - esp in African Americans apparently. Anyhow it basically stops you from eating any dairy - as it’s milk sugar is lactose & without the lactase enzyme the body cannot break it down & it goes straight through

However - for the past few years I always carry a pack of Lacteezes around & have a couple before eating a meal. Taste like mints & basically give you temporary lactase . Cheap over the counter. Highly recommend

I’ll eat almost anything and I loved the smell of black pudding cooking on the campfire but…its main ingredient is blood and at the age I was that wasn’t an option lol

Anything more than medium rare gets sent back.

No I couldn’t eat it either - Although my Dad loved the stuff. Also can’t eat intestines & brains & all that gunk either. Makes me crook even thinking about it

Couple of years ago I very nearly decided to go without any meat / animal - whatever you call that these days. That 4 Corners show with the cattle / sheep & the greyhound cruelty really got me thinking do I really need to kill things to eat. I won’t even go fishing anymore because I hate killing the poor bloody fish.

Decided not too as it makes it tough on the missus & kids. Even so I tend not to eat much meat

Thanks everyone!

This is meant to be a travel/holiday thread and I think I took it off course.

Gotta get up at 5.30 to travel and feed 80 horses… sleep and eat well 😀

Cant go the steak moo-ing when its served. Cry  And not much on fish. Especially raw stuff.  A lot of it tastes like cardboard to me.  Sometimes I come across a piece I like but not often.    Didnt mind catfish and hush puppies made with beer batter.
I am coming to your house, 1x1.  Roast beef and yorkshire pudding.  Bliss.

Overcooked meat was the only way I ever had it till I grew up!  I love the way the Japanese cook their meat in the hotpot.  Tender and delicious.  And I prefer my meat far less well cooked!

Talking of travel.
Anyone here going to Grafton for the Ramornie ? Next Wed .
Since we havnt been overseas for awhile we seem to be doing short trips lately.
Jamala Wildlife Lodge and a catch up with Dizzy a few weeks ago. Now Grafton.
I have to say. If you want to lash out on something a bit special, spend 24 hours at Jamala.  Worth every penny if you like big animals. Like Lions, tigers, and rhino.

Jamala is fantastic. Classy food, wonderful accommodation, and great experiences.

If I was well enough, I'd go back in an instant.

It's that time of the year that we'll be returning back to OZ...

A bit of trip before we end up back in Adelaide.

Leaving Uzhhorod for Budapest - we stay there for a night before flying to Basel and driving to Freiburg, Germany to visit my wife's family who are located there.

Then off to Zurich after about a week with one stop flight.

Looking forward to OZ, family and seeing the POMs whinge  Wink

Heading for a little trip to NZ - South Island

Will be roaming around 8 days starting from Christchurch - out to the west of the S.Island and then touring from Queenstown.

Not sure how my tips for our comp will go but will try!

Brudder, Mrs FF and I rode a couple of motorbikes around NZ, mostly SI, some years back.

A fun fact. The west coast of the SI averages 3 METRES of rain per year!

Over 4 days we didn’t cop rain once. Blessed.

Thanks Furious.

I’ve got an 8hr drive to Mudgee and back over the weekend and it looks like it’s possible I’ll be stranded in a place like, Wombat or Boorowa with no fuel.

Worse things have happened I ‘spose.

Yes bombs aren't falling here!  Still I drive a diesel so really have to think before driving anywhere.  Going to the Slipper at the weekend and have to pick up my sister.  Really thinking twice about going even if that is my one day a year at the races (well two last year!).  daughter got told Diesel will probably end up at $4 dollars soon.
