Preliminary investigations cite a burst tire on Joshua's vehicle, causing the driver to lose control and swerve into the truck. I would have thought the referee could have given Zerafa a few extra minutes to have his eye cleaned up, seeing if he could continue after that. Don't know if that is in his purview.
Having said that Zerafa didn't seem to be keen to continue. Most other fighters protest vigorously at the thought of the fight being stopped and often protest at TKO stoppages. Zerafa did none of this, seemed happy to accept the non contest. I have never been in the ring obviously, it is an incredibly tough game and it is easy to judge from behind a computer screen.

The doctor ruled him unfit to continue, so the referee then explained the situation to Zerafa who said he was happy with that. He told him, being before round 4 it will be ruled a no contest. Zerafa acknowledged and the referee waved it away.

Remember going down to the North Sydney RSL full of excitement, anticipation looking forward to a great stouch along with a squillion other sports lovers. Couldn't get a seat, drunks all around talking crap, beer & spit flying everywhere. And that was for the 3 hours waiting for the fight to start And then it started....& i dont think Manny got with a foot of actually landing a punch. What a bore fest....seriously underwhelming Wasn't Manny said to be over the hill after that magnificent fighter Jeff Horn beat him 9 years ago up in Brisbane ? Think the boxing public must have very short memories Anyhow...to finish off the story.....had an ordinary feed in the Bistro....dropped the obligatory $200 to $300 on the closest Golden Century machine in about 10 minutes on the way out......received the standard thanks for coming at the reception area......& went straight home to the recliner !
