Sure is Whale, they punch above there weight too when there's a feed to be had, very aggressive, even towards each other LOL We get a real kick watching them.
Never had any in this area untill about 6 years ago - climate change I guess.
It takes a wise man a lifetime to grow a tree and a fool five minutes to kill one.

We’ve got a few who arrive on the deck rail asking to be fed.

We leave a small portion of bird mix on a plate on the rail and a separate bowl of fresh water.

Somehow the birds know that the yapping, frenzied pups a metre below them can’t reach them and they pick at the grains.

Beautiful birds.

And yes Gay, it’s smokey here and 3 choppers have just gone over. I’ve mentioned climate change once or twice, “but I think I got away with it”.

We have lots come to the water.  A couple are very quiet. Take grain from my hand if I offer, but I dont very often. They rule when around the water. Funny little fellas to watch. They love honey.

We have a sooky lorikeet who sits on my windowsill most of the day, waiting for me to come out and feed him.

We also have a family of noisy miners. Several of the flock love to tap on my window, to tell me it's time for a feed. I happily oblige as the 'twit, twit' of their babies drives me bonkers.

The moment I appear on my balcony, the currawongs line up for a treat. We found a grasshopper on our doorstep the other day. I popped a kleenex over him, scooped him up, then took him out onto the balcony to release him. No sooner did he hit the palm frond below the balcony, a currawong swooped and ate him. So much for animal rescue.

birds are such fun to watch, feed or photogragh.  I love the little ones like the wrens.  We get lots but hard to get a decent photo of.  They just don't stay still long enough!

Snooky, the sooky lorikeet, loves to talk to me. If other lorikeets come along to steal his food, he jumps on my head for protection.
