On March 17, 2026, Stormy Atlantic passed away peacefully at Bridlewood Farm in Ocala, Florida. He was 32 years old.

On the track he had been honest, not legendary: six wins from fifteen starts. But as a sire he revealed something the racetrack hadn't fully shown — the ability to transmit greatness.

112 stakes winners. 48 graded. Seven champions across three continents. And one son in particular who deserves a story of his own: Stormy Liberal, claimed for just $40,000 in October 2016 as if he were nothing, then becoming one of only two horses in history to win the Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint twice — in 2017 at Del Mar and in 2018 at Churchill Downs — and Eclipse Champion Turf Male.
