Thought it would be nice to create a thread listing the previous winners of the Autumn and Spring Group 1 competitions along with total scores, averages and records in each, so here it is!

Feels like a good spot to also list the rules for each competition so that people have somewhere to go to if they're not sure on the rules, I'll post the rules in my next post, Dizzy and Furious feel free to add yours when you see this!

Spring Winners List

Autumn Winners List

Please note, these rules apply from the 2025 Winter Competiton forward, for the ongoing Autumn Competition, runners simply have to finish in the prize money to achieve a score.  Not offering a selection will also see no runner given.

SP Main Competition rules

Scoring is done as follows, Prize Money x Starting Price ÷ Finishing Position.

Starting Price is as listed in race results on Racing Australia.

Starting from the 2025 Winter Competition, Runners must run into prize money and also beat at least 1 runner home to achieve a score.

If a selection scratched, a replacement may be selected, if a replacement is not put up, the favourite (as per Racing Australia listed starting prices) will be used instead, in the event of equal favourites, the lowest placed runner will be given.  (Example, if joint favourites run 2nd and 3rd, 3rd place runner will be given).  Failure to post a selection will see competitors given the longest priced runner in the race, in the event of equally priced long-shots, the same lowest placed rule will apply as with replacements.

Cup competitions

Scoring is done as follows, Starting Price ÷ Finishing Position.

Starting Price is as listed in race results on Racing Australia.

Starting from the 2025 Winter Competition, Runners must run into prize money and also beat at least 1 runner home to achieve a score.

Rules for scratchings and not offering a selection will be the same as the Main SP Competition.

In the knock-out rounds, if a tie occurs, total of each competitors runners finishing positions will determine the winner, if this is still a tie, the score of the previous round for both competitors will determine the winner.

Great stuff Afros. Though I think in fairness to all the Winter comp Hall of Fame should also be included.

Plan going forward will be to update after each competition, thinking I will add the Winter Comp after this years when it'll at least have two years on it.

Perhaps should add the Cup competitions as well?

Mine are simple rules.  Post your horses.  You can only replace a horse if there is a scratching.  If you don't get in on time I give you the favourite.  Or some put in a sub which I will then slot in.

The scores are 1st  3
      2nd 2
      3rd  1

This has been running over seven years now with Horlicks, Second Chance and Vincent being dual winners.  Other winners include myself, Stayer, Brave Ponies, Marble, TJ Mitchell and Second Chance.   Always fun and I love it when we all support each other.

That should be if you don't get a replacement in on time you get the favourite.

I guess if you don't get any picks in I'll leave you out.  But if possible get in touch with someone you know to get your picks in.

I was just joking coz I won the inaugural Winter comp (or tied, anyway.) I'm hoping to add the Autumn Spoon to my trophy cabinet too but I think I'm up against Sister D so no need to build an extra shelf just yet.

Yes add in the Cups too I reckon.

Will do so once we've finished this autumns comp so they'll also have a couple lines filled.

So Second Chance is at present the king of the blue riband comp with 5 wins, one shared, Vincent has 3 wins with one shared and Horlicks has 2 wins, one of those shared.

Dizzy is the queen of the roughies comp, nobody else has manged to claim that competition more than once.

Gay3 will become the queen of the SP competition once she claims this autumns crown and becomes the first multiple winner.

As yet we have no triple crown winners, several of us have two legs, Dizzy, Vincent, TJ Mitchell, Marble, Horlicks and Furious need an SP, Carioca and Stayer a roughies, Afros needs to win a Winners comp.

Talk to Gay3 for some tips, she's double or more everyone elses efforts in the past two comps, she's figured it out!

I wish I could see them all first time Gay.  I would be less embarrassed.  But I'd still rather be shown I've missed something than miss in the long run.  Hey I enjoy the comps also.  Gives me something to do.

Furious, I can barely count past 3 on some Saturday evenings, so to me it's a feat that you manage to post the scores at all! And you always get it right in the end Thumbs Up

Well done Vincent in breaking the Autumn points record in the winners comp!

It will be interesting to see how the winter comp plays out, it feels like we're heading into an era of domination from Vincent and Gay3 going by the honours board!
