A popular victory by Furious.  Thumbs Up

And what about Stayer who tied for first in the Winners comp, clearly won the SP division, and ran 2nd in the roughies.  Clap  Unless I can't add up.  Embarrassed

Congratulations furious, stayer and vincent Clap

What a great comp this has turned out to be - a roughie takes the roughies, stayer indeed stayed, and vincent ran well as always Big smile

Thanks to furious, dizzy and afros (and all players) for cheering up the winter season Hug

Not a problem all, happy to contribute in a small way to the vitality of this little online community that I've been a part of for over a decade now.

While it is fresh in memories I'm thinking of making a change to the SP formula for the coming Spring G1 competition, removing prize money from the equation so that the score for each race is simply SP ÷ position, creating more of a point of difference from the roughies competition while still maintaining a point of difference from the winners competition.

Thoughts?

I like it the way it is, but think ALL big money races should be in given its about chasing the dollars.

The Concorde Stakes and The Shorts are both worth a million dollars, should it be considered to include them for the spring? But where should we draw the line? Any Group race worth 7 figures gets a start? Any race carrying a purse above say 3 million not carrying black type also gets a start? I like the idea from a competitive point of view as more races means the cream is more likely to rise to the top.

With Moonee Valley moving their two Spring G1 sprints into September (creating a clash with the Moir and Concorde now to be run on the same day) we will have G1 racing from August 24 on until the conclusion of the Spring Carnival, so at least we won't have the stuttering start we had last spring.
