Been looking at Pedigrees360 for about 8 months now. Geez, it's addictive. Matching analysis of all the Inglis Premier Sales catalogue lots for 2020 and 2021 to actual race track performances data i've got for each lot, based on the various factors put forward by p360, and i've been getting interesting results thus far.

I've run my 2 mares, plus a friends through the Matings hub with around 180 stallions throughout Australia that i've inputted, being completely unbiased in relation to service fee, location etc... and found it to be interesting.

I have room for another mare to be run through the Matings analysis, so if anyone has a mare they would be interested in having run through the system, please let me know. Only 1 mare will be chosen, as only have 1 more to add to my list, and the results I'll post on here so it's completely transparent, and then see what the feedback from others is. As i've done with mine, i've been unbiased in the outcomes, of course should I choose a stallion to use for any of mares, the final choice would take into account my location, budget and other factors, but that's not the point of this exercise.

This is completely for fun, and practice. I'd like to know how another mare matches up, and might as well be a 'real' one...

Hi pnclick, I have an older mare I was thinking of breeding with this season, I would have liked her to go to Casino Prince but he has retired so, as you say for the fun of it, her name is 'Carlaxna' (IRE)
Thank you.

Thanks GAJ. Interesting left field one in regards Australian breeding. French staying lines, full sister to Carlotamix, winner of the G1 Criterium International in France. A race won by Royal Meeting and one of my favs, Johannes Vermeer.

I notice on the Carlotamix stallion brochure, they reference he'd be an excellent out cross for Sadler's Wells mares. I wonder if that finding would be evident on the sisters side?

As indicated in the post, I only have 1 mare available to run through it, so I'll wait a couple of days, and see what small list eventuates. Thanks GAJ.

GAJ,

I have run your mare through the software to hopefully find potential 'nuggets' in the sire ranks, and maybe generate discussion around the sires that have come up high in the list.

The process involved 172 stallions Australia wide. There is no emphasis placed on location, price, my opinion and so forth. The objective was to simply let the software do its thing. This process also does not take into account size and type of stallion in comparison to the mare in question. So basically it's a first step to hopefully make any choice easier in the end.

And ultimately this about having fun coming up with suggestions, and the discussion that may result from that.

Firstly, the mare in question, CARLAXNA, has been tricky in getting high results. For example, the P360 software i've been testing and running analysis on uses 8 variables, of which, each variables result is ranked from 0 to 6, where 6 is considered "Off the Chart" and 0 is Very Poor Figure. Not a large number receive "Off The Chart" results for any variables, for example tmrw at Randwick, 2 that have are CEOUWOLF, ENCAP. One yearling that received a very high result when going through the 2024 Inglis Premier book was a Tassort - Vienna Waltz filly that was purchased by John Moloney, it's race named is THE VOLTA, who is indicating plenty of ability so far.

Of the 172 stallions. Carlaxna received Zero "Off the Chart" results for any of the 8 variables. I have 2 mares who are 1/2 sisters, 1 is proving very positive in matching up, yet the other is more tricky, but neither has received a complete Zero in "Off the Chart" results.

The top 10 ranked, in order, were as follows:

Puissance De Lune
Cliff's Edge
Grunt
Toronado
Fierce Impact
Spirit of Boom
Written Tyccon
All Too Hard
Capitalist
Johannes Vermeer

ps.. your original choice , CASINO PRINCE, would have definitely been in the top 5. Other stallions, either recently retired or deceased (as they were in my original run) that come up with better figures than those in the list were ALL AMERICAN, DANERICH, SKILLED, DENMAN and DASH FOR CASH.

pnclick, thank you for going to the trouble, had a look at the conformation of the ones I haven't seen before, going on what may suit her Grunt stands out, he is a nice type with some length especially length of rein, he covers a lot of ground while being shorter on top ( back and loin) , lovely shoulder lay, so much horse in front of the saddle - so I really like him.

Our mare is not so big and more a compact type, so breeding to a stuffy one may not be a good idea. All in my dreams as most of them are too far away or the likes of Boom too expensive, but on type not for me but love his temperament - I remember having a horse next to him in the tie ups at the Gold Coast, he was like a quiet ol gelding.
Capitalist can throw the odd weapon too.
Shame about Casino Prince, I was offered a cover last year for $4000 and should have gone with it, Too many hurdles on the home front too, but an interesting exercise, thanks again.

I think I've put it out there before, if anyone would like to use her for this season let me know.
