Djebel,
We both agree that Verry Elleegant is world class and whether the jockey or trainer or both or neither are to blame for yesterday is all speculation.

She was beaten by a world class horse.

I don't think you can say that the track was controversial on Champions Stakes day as that is typical of commentators trying to find excuses for beaten brigade.

Skalleti runs 2nd who before that won a G3 and G2 in France and has since resumed winning a G3 and G2 in France comfortably.

Magical runs 3rd and I'm pretty sure I don't have to convince you how good she is. End of her 4yo campaign she beat Addeybb by 0.75 on a soft track in the Champion Stakes. Prior to the Champion Stakes last year she won 2 Irish G1's including beating Sir Dragonet by 2.25 (which ties in with yesterdays result nicely), runs 2nd to Ghaiyyath and then beats Ghaiyyath by 0.75 with Armory a further 1.25 back in 3rd (and that ties in with Sir Dragonet vs Armory inb Cox Plate) and Ghaiyyath was world class.

Serpentine runs 4th 4 lengths further back.

Lord North at his run before Champion Stakes runs 3rd behind Ghaiyyath (4.25 lengths) and Magical(1.25 len) which cold margins show he probably did underperform and possibly should have finished in the top 4 or 5 but he is not better than Addeybb.
Prejudice is an emotional attachment to ignorance.
DiEM25 for the world.

2021 Group 1 Queen Elizabeth Stakes - Timeform Ratings

Addeybb - 124
Verry Elleegant - 119

As a comparison:

2020 Group 1 Queen Elizabeth Stakes - Timeform Ratings

Addeybb - 128
Verry Elleegant - 117
Australian racing is only good up to 1400m in terms of world standards when it comes to depth/quality in numbers
