Chase de Ace backed from $201 to $101 with corporates at Cranbourne today, only to be just pipped on the line. By a $160 job if you please.

Great to see Bruce Purcell get the winner, had a bit of a health battle the last couple of years, including a hear attack just last week. Recovering at home now.

I need some of our international form students experience here.
Last year I was offered a share in the galloper Mankayan, and I had a person lined up for him, but I told him to wait until he ran in Australia, and of course he started favorite during cup week and was unplaced and he pulled out.
I have just received an offer for the galloper Adjourn, who I am told runs tomorrow night at Royal Ascot where Kieran McEvoy who is over for the Shergar Cup meeting rides.
The Australian Bloodstock guys are aiming him at the Rosehill Gold Cup on Golden Eagle day and the prizemoney from that race down to fourth would offer a nice initial return on the investment.
My potential owner told me to keep an eye out and he is interested, but I need to know if on his rating and potential, whether he would be a chance of winning the Rosehill Gold Cup before I send him the email.
For the record the price is $18,000 for a 2.5% share or $36,000 for a 5% share.
Any feedback would be appreciated

Argyle Lane, the half to Incentivise goes around again tomorrow at Sunny Coast. He beat a smart horse at his first start and could easily go on with it tomorrow.

Riverina Cup day at Wagga - NSW’s longest race at 3800m
A shame that scratchings have reduced the field to only 5. Whilst I don’t like betting in fields < 8 runners, I’ll have a small bet on Piping Hot.
7yo gelding by marathon stallion Raise the Flag who’s grand dam is Cates Mill (1989 Bagot Hcp & Duke of Norfolk Stks winner) so the 3800m shouldn’t hold any fears. Hes been building to something this campaign, so hopefully Emma & David Browne are rewarded for the long trip from Cranbourne.

Great stuff.
ps Steve Tregea is a principled type of guy so if he does sell shares in the gelding you can get $101 from me about certain people being the purchase.

Tregea to 'wind down' training
Twenty-four hours after preparing Incentivise’s
half-brother Argyle Lane to win on debut, Steve Tregea has revealed he’s
winding down as a trainer. Argyle Lane was transferred on Monday
into the care of Joshua King, who’s been Tregea’s foreman for the last
three years and rode trackwork for him before then. The renowned
Toowoomba horseman explained that Argyle Lane was one of a number of
horses that would be transferred over to King to train. Despite
the news, Tregea said that he would continue to be involved in racing as
a breeder and owner and that he’ll still be keeping busy. “There’s
plenty of work to do on the farm, there’s plenty of tractor work and
plenty of young horses to feed, worry about what’s got to be done with
them, so I won’t be short of something to do,” Tregea said. Tregea
bred and was the initial owner and trainer of Incentivise, who won his
last six starts in a row for him by a combined margin of 42 lengths on
his road to superstardom last year. The son of Shamus Award was
then sold to his current connections, with Tregea retaining a share in
him, and was transferred to Peter Moody at Pakenham. Incentivise
continued on his winning ways last spring, taking out the Makybe Diva
Stakes, Turnbull Stakes and Caulfield Cup, while he also produced a
gallant effort to finish second in the Melbourne Cup. Tregea then sold out of the three-time group one winner earlier this year. Tregea
listed another of Incentivise’s siblings, dual stakes race winner
Bergerac, and Group Two Victory Stakes winner Niccanova, as being other
highlight horses from his training career. As for Sunday’s winner
Argyle Lane, his now former trainer explained that the Golden Archer
gelding had had a leg issue that had delayed his debut until late in his
four-year-old season. “He’s always been a lovely looking horse,” Tregea said. “I’ve said for years that if you could breed yearlings that looked like him, you’d sell them quite easily. “He
had a problem with his hind leg, he got an infection in the leg that
needed long term antibiotic treatment, needed flushing regularly, which
held him up for six months at a time, other than the fact that he’s a
very big horse and we gave him a bit of time. “We didn’t have any choice; we would have had him going a lot earlier if it wasn’t for that.”
