Who needs a politician when you have a VOICE.
Hopefully he just made himself redundant.

Thanks folks.
I'll be getting approval before I start another thread. I'll just have to incorporate Dim Jim into one of the other threads !

No - I wasn't.
I made the mistake of starting a new thread called " Dim Jim" - which attracted about 40 posts over a few hours. My last post was a civil debate with Rusty over the cause of inflation - when the whole thread just got wiped without explanation. Members were later informed that the new thread was not necessary. So I just thought that was a bit "hot". Put it in the Laundry Basket if you must - & tell me not to duplicate thread's - just don't obliterate a few hours discussion ! |

More like you were saved by the bell Rusty !
Get this - Rusty reckons wage growth has no influence on inflation. Just because we had little wage growth when inflation took off - he thinks that means that wage growth has no influence. Der ! If we had massive wage growth as well it would have been twice as much.

No, Rusty reckons, hysterical ranting that any wage growth with send inflation spiraling, is arrant nonsense.
Rusty also reckons that your understanding of what impact wage increases on employers nationwide is weak, and is affected by your personal situation/business. Graphs showing how business profits have grown strongly, whilst wages have remained static, are the cause of inflation in this current cycle are ignored by 1,1, because he either doesn’t understand the graphs, or he does, and refuses to acknowledge the facts that destroy his POV.

Ridiculous. Wages & Profit go hand in hand for most businesses Rusty. If your wages start to spike - there's a fair chance your profits will dip. You don't have to be Einstein to work out the current spike in wages growth is going to be inflationary.

That’s just mindless. There’s no spike. Your attitude is that wages can never increase because it’s inflationary. So real wages drop year on year. |

What i said was that Anthony coming out during the election saying he supported wages staying pace with inflation was in itself going to increase inflationary pressures. It would also ensure a climate of industrial dispute in places the Union movement saw as "politically convenient" to do so.

Whats the latest on this topic. I heard Anthony refer to it the other after he backflipped / cocked up / got it all wrong a few weeks back at Garma festival
Since heard he is hoping to have it sorted by the NEXT ELECTION. Kidding surely. Its already been on the table since 2017 - & now they want another 3 years. Anything that takes 8 years to formulate obviously has major issues. Anthony will leave politics with the "Best Intentioned" Award if nothing else.

Maybe Anthony should have sorted the ACTUAL proposal BEFORE spruiking at the Garma Festival. I think the indigenous folk have had enough false promises over the years. At best politically naïve - at worst grandstanding to give himself some sort of legacy if (when) it fails

The Turnbull interview on 7.30 Report last night was classic
Started off with a clip of Turnbull speaking strongly against the "third chamber Voice back in 2015. Then questioned live why now he had changed his mind to support it. Then for the next 5 minutes dribbled , jabbered & frothed over a response that culminated in him saying the Voice would be the biggest Constitutional Change ever seen, & that it would fundamentally change the dynamics of our Parliamentary system. At which point whatever her name is abruptly wound the interview to a close

Certainly wont the way it is being approached that's for sure. Indigenous representatives have been arguing about what they want since 2017 & still cant get it sorted. Then our PM asks that we give a green light to change our Constitution & he will work on the details once we do. That got the reception it deserved. Then backflips saying all going well they will be ready in another 3 years. That's an 8 year period. As Baguette has stated - the idea in conceptually flawed. It is enshrining Division forever. That can only result in the Indigenous being treated as an entitled underclass.

And lets not forget his very first commitment on his Election night was getting Uluru & all its trappings into law. Rightly got an enormous cheer. Which is why i am surprised at how poorly he has executed the process so far.
