Criminal forebear,? Stole a loaf of bread to feed his family.
Of course we cannot have a public holiday for all the descendants of 50% of the population , leave AD where it it is and they along with the descendants of those "criminals " we can celebrate the one day.

The Andrews government refused to be drawn on whether the MMC action set a precedent for Victoria to take further action . "This matter is for the MCC", a spokeswoman said.
That comes as no surprise as earlier this year as it was the Andrews government which cancelled the Melbourne-based Australia Day parade for the second year in a row. |

PT. Come in spinner, I was expecting someone to put it down to Covid. Despite your assumption Covid was not an issue in January 2022 as it was in January 2021. That 2021 cancellation ok but the second ???

Last year, the Victorian government dubiously cancelled their Australia Day parade due to Covid. It was an unpopular decision that fuelled civil bitterness toward Premier Daniel Andrews and his government, who were quite rightly accused of playing politics with public health orders. Melbourne City Council has cancelled the Australia Day parade again, only this time they admit it’s definitely political. http://www.spectator.com.au/2022/01/australia-day-parade-cancelled-invasion-day-goes-ahead/ |

The population of the City of Melbourne is around 150,000 of which, according to the last census, 771 ( 771/15000= 00514 % of the electorate ) are indigenous yet the Council has assumed that Australia Day is divisive. I wonder how many of those 771 ( .00514% ) would care a toss whether Australia Day celebrations were given the flick or not. There are 9 councillors in the City of Melbourne , no doubt at least 5 of those councillors ( 5/150000 = .0000333 % of the electorate) are in favour of giving Australia Day the flick and obviously do care a toss. What a joke.

Has Hello Sunshine ever posted anything even remotely interesting? I mean, Redemption was stark raving but at least entertaining. He/she seems to be a blow in from Narkville.

Why are our rightards dropping off one by one anyway? Have they lost the will to rant with Scummo gone and Trump one step from a prison cell?

I don't think they will put Trump in jail Tiazolteotl. I think he deserves to be their but it would cause to much upheaval and USA is in too bad a way without that. He's knows it too.

Hello Sunshine/Isaac Solomon is a funny one. Used to call out abuse and unsavoury behaviour on the forum. Begged the moderators to do something about it. Then, when the moderators actually did do something about it she complains.

Well he was caught with a loaf of bread in his hands, his only reason was to feed it to his family, he was not going to raffle it at local.

Australian history: Researching our links to convictsHave you heard the story about the convict sent to Australia for stealing a loaf of bread. It’s a common story that most of us hear when we’re kids, but it could well be a myth. If not a myth, perhaps it’s overstated. “I have a database with more than 4500 convicts and not one stole a loaf of bread,” convict researcher Diane Blishen said. “There are cliches and mistaken ideas about the convicts.” |

There is only on this list of the First Fleet convicts where bread is mentioned. "William Okey, a labourer, was convicted for stealing six chines of bacon, four loaves of bread and other goods (61s)" If that means goods to the value of 61 shillings that's a lot. There are people on the list with 1 shillings worth.

And to top it off, records indicate only a miniscule percentage of convicts sent to Oz were first offenders.
So it's highly likely Bob's forebear was a multiple law-breaking reprobate.

My transported forebear lived in both Wales and across the Bristol Channel in Cornwall. Probably stole a leek, and later a pasty.
