Shows the character of the bloke that he would use this excuse. Definitely confirms that he was not fit for a leadership position if this is how his decision making works under pressure. Also unfair on the lady involved to bring her terrible health news in as an excuse.

Polling shows ‘Gen teal’ wave could wash over Victorian electionTeal independents could replicate their federal success and capitalise on what new polling predicts is a drop-off in support for the Liberal Party in wealthy electorates which the Coalition needs to compete at the November state election. Polling commissioned by Climate 200, the funding vehicle that backed the successful campaigns of several independents focussed on climate and integrity at May’s federal election, suggests similar candidates could win a bag of state seats and potentially influence the outcome of an election that some pundits think could result in a Labor minority government. more... |

Opposition leader Matthew Guy has accepted the resignation of his chief of staff Mitch Catlin after he asked a donor to make a 100k payment directly to his personal company.
Please Libs, sort out your party before it's too late

Seriously, what’s happened?
Libs are a deadset clusterf*ck at every level! They are literally a joke in every state bar NSW, but Dom is working overtime to match his incompetent colleagues in other states. Federally, all I can say is Dutton, Sussssssan & Angus are their top 3. Seriously!!!!!!!!!

Well you're incessantly and deafening loud, loud, loud about alleged corruption within Victorian Labor Bob, so surely you have opinion about Matthew "Lobster Cave" Guy and his disgraced ex Chief of Staff.

SC. was that story about a disgraced COS in The Age ? I must have missed it. That anecdote of the Lobster with the Mobster is old, old old news well before my prior post on this thread at the end of May. Regardless, the Liberals are not in government and whatever are their failings. If Dan, with all the ALP's mistakes and rorts, still wins the next election, it illustrates sadly how bad all politicians of all sides are in Victoria.

In other words you're refusing to comment on apparently corrupt practice by Victorian Liberals in high places.
There's a word for that. It begins with hyp and ends with isy.

This is why people hate pollies. Just the other day Guy was screaming about integrity all the while he's doing dodgy deals on the side.

He says he'll remain leader but whether it be now or in a few months time when he loses badly again, he'll be gone. Maybe O'Brien can step back in.

Short of stature, rather shorter on integrity. The latter almost a necessity if one wants to climb the Liberal ladder.
Will bet you a lobster* that the Vic Liberals will lose even more seats after being decimated last time around. Even accepting Labor will certainly lose seats also. * refer meeting with alleged criminal elements in the Lobster Cave * for those who came in late a "lobster" is a colloquialism for a $20 note.

Believe these two questions have been circulated to all aspiring Liberal Party candidates for the upcoming State election. It's believed Michael O'Brien might have sanctioned the mail-out as a means of narrowing the hopefuls down.
1. Which description best fits the current leader of the Opposition: Matthew Guy wouldn't or couldn't a. know up from down b. get a root in a bordello c. know if a shark bit him d. lie straight in bed e. know if a tram was up him f. work in an iron lung g. recognize a scruple if he fell over it h. all of the above. 2. What is 1 plus 1* * calculators must not be used ps sorry, but it's been a slow day.

Opposition leader Matthew Guy has appointed Nick McGowan as his chief-of-staff. He was Guy’s best man and will be contesting the North Eastern Metropolitan Region at the November election. Guy says McGowan won't campaign for his personal election during his ordinary work hours.
Guy says McGowan's first task will be to develop a code of conduct for opposition staff in Victoria.

To lose one senior staffer in a week can be considered unfortunate. To lose two looks like carelessness.
