Gotta keep up my friend LOLLOL this " paying overs " has been going on for 2 decades , what one eye see's the other one misses , they love buying horses and it ain't gunna stop now , besides I like him , so that makes him worth at least 400K.LOL

And while we're here, how about your mate Magnier paying $1.8 m for the Kingman - Florentina colt Lot 322?

Lot 334 Frankel - Furnival passed in for $500,000, reserve $550,000.  Three foals 3yo or over for a maiden winner in Germany.  What a load of cobblers.

Think Gary and John train some in Oz but for the most part they eventually end up in Hong Kong and/or the knackers.

Okay some facts from 2018
Of the 40 colts who bought $750K or more:
                             7 went to HK etc
2 to NZ ( where 1 was handy Gr 3 wnr)
                             1 died, 1 un-named, 1 unraced
28 raced in Oz   a very healthy %age indeed
                              25 have won a race : a tremendous result

BUT in total they cost $46.4 million for a racetrack return of $4 million thus far ( and they are 4yo's)
and not a stallion prospect amongst them ( even though 5 have won lower level black type. Definitely NO Melb/Syd  Aut/Spr stakes races of quality or even Gr3)
One foolhardy young fellow spent $8 million of other peoples money for a racetrack return of  $620K thus  far   Add on costs and investors would be lucky to get back 55 of their total investment
Of the 7 purchased by the shooting star  5 wnrs (total 8 races) 1 non-wnr,  1u/r
To be fair Stronger did win 3 races( Inc a Qld s/w) And a whopping $180 K before heading to HK

Just checked out the $1.8 mill Kingman.   As John McEnroe would say "are you serious "
Long narrow head, not a lot of strength behind saddle and much to Gay's disgust on this one 4 different hoof angles, and I didn't look too hard and we are facetiously told he ticked all the boxes. The underbidder was that young master of lemon selection

Now to be fair to J Harron B/stock.  I did particularly like lot 349 Shalaa , very nice early type. early success/ easy to market but does he have a stalliond pedigree for Oz. woild get money back on the HK market.
Old mate Magnier squared the ledger with his astute purchase of lot 362 Fast R? Happy Hannah colt for $360K.
I did like the Vic colt yndicate purchase lot 322 by Zoutar.  Very nice horse
Now talking about astute the Lindsay Park team went quietly about their business and bought 2 real racehorses  lot 255 P.O.D  and lot365  F. Artie

And finally Fung/Phoenix must think that after 14 years Snitzel is finally going to become a sire of sires. They have spent overs
