Lot 453 I rather like given his sire Ifraaj was mentioned here only last wek (I think) & love Kitchwin's rearing/environment. He has a beautiful intelligent head/eye, lovely athleticism & well balanced. I do hope he goes to someone capable tho' LOL

Lot 453 - Iffraaj (GB) / La Souvenir (NZ)
Wisdom has been chasing me but I've always outrun it!

Re lot 453, the fansite being nuclear freeze must have put people off as the dam is a half sister to so you think. Was there a problem physically? Photo looks good.

And Lot 510 brings $300k.

Tony Fung/Phoenix continue to pay overs.

Lot 470 a nice type, but hardly an $800k page, best of luck Ultra T'breds/Baystone.  Lot 483 appears to lack bone and substance but brings $800k to a James Harron bid.

Can't believe someone paid $1m for Lot 529.

be interested to see if it's one of the usual suspects: Fung, Bester, Harron...

Thanks SC & certainly agree re 510! Whilst immaturity can always be forgiven, badly tied in below the knee is imo, a major conformation fault Angry I thought someone said they handpick with conformation as a priority selection criteria Confused Bull...............!!!!

Lot 200 I Am Invincible - Custard filly sold for $500k to Sheamus Mills Bloodstock (FBAA.  From a stakes- winner who's already produced two stakes-winners and a similar number of stakes-place-getters herself.

Maybe walks a bit short but otherwise appears fine, and really thought she would bring double that price.  Will follow her with interest.

Ok it's generally been a vibrant sale for vendors.

However as Day 3 concludes it's hard to imagine more than a few buyers got value for money, many lots selling for much more than their real value imho.

Too much work today so didn't get to watch.  Like SC I liked the Custard pedigree but most of my picks so far on the pedigree page have been all over the shot but I have been liking the Pariah's and following three from yesterday the Belscencia, Astophysical Jet and Astral Miss.  Don't have a clue if the legs are out but look ok to me.  He seems to have served plenty of nice if not spectacular mares.  I've had luck with the Lundi and Fly Me family also but didn't get to see them today.

It appears that way Antlowes but REMEMBER these are the best of this years crop. A further 42 have to find homes at Classic and ditto 17 at Melb Prem and thats only part of the crop. There are many still to find there way into a lesser catalogue
With 200+ vying for a catalogue spot unless you crack MM or he starts producing class Spring Autumn Syd/ Melb stakeswinners at better than his current pedestrian rate of 3% I'd say most future vendors are cooked
COLD HEARTED ECONOMIC FACT   Buyers move on to new fashion especially this current crop of First Season Stallions even given that DF is well marketed
It is doubtful his average sale price will increase greatly but in 2023 you will need to factor in $100K costs just to break even.  That is what I'd be worried about and that is what I was alluding to. DO THE SUMS

I think Mick Price has bought a nice Merchant Navy colt, lot 269 from a long, long line of stakes and city-class winners (despite mum not getting anywhere near that level, or her $750k price tag). In any case, $170k looks like a nice buy. Not too expensive to geld (should the need arise), not too cheap to syndicate to his better clients.

Also like the potential of lot 615, the Highland Reel 1/2 brother to Doctor Doom. Mum is 6/6 for runners to winners. $180k might be a little hard to sell, but the finished product might go alright.... $76k pinhook, so there's been a couple of nice drinks in him already.

James Bester has bought the pick of the Flying Arties sold to date (imo), lot 444 out of a Scat Daddy mare. American listed level is, admittedly, a touchy subject, but we can all agree that it is at least city class. So, $180k for a nice size filly with a reasonable maternal line is good business for both sides of the table... probably ends up with Gai?

I had a shortlist of 15 i liked in this sale. 11 have sold so far. Most of those sold went for what i consider overs in price, and one went for too much unders.

One that i loved and who went for imo a bit unders was Lot 293 a grey SYT filly. 220K. It was bought by Big Red Farm in Japan. Does anyone know if they get them trained here by anyone or do they take them to Japan straight away?

Bit hard to follow in Japan if i choose her in the comp.
