Very nice debut by this horse today so worthy of a thread as I feel he has a future , by a son of High Chaparral in Redwood whose stock appear to relish a journey this youngster jumped well and settled in the 1 x 1 then lost his spot on the corner , dragged across heels at the 200 then levelled out doing his best work late.
A Xmas special imo.

Definitely a tidy debut by Red Santa today, look forward to seeing him progress.

The runner up in that race is also potentially a nice stayer in the making - Tarantello, 3yo filly by Dandino with a good NZ dam side.

And what about Ciaron’s other 3yo colt that won easily on debut over 1600m at Swan Hill today - Explosive Jack, by Jakkalberry out of an Ekraar mare.

Lining up as an odds-on favourite tomorrow at the Bool in a 1700m maiden - Race 1.

Had every possible before running second.  Suspect the form will be good coming out of this particular race.

Those avoiding backing Maher O/O jobs are being richly rewarded - for now. These threads generally result in major form reversals tho' so watch the stable closely, they will rebound LOL

Disappointing 2nd , under hard riding on the corner , gave nothing when challenged , paddock plus scalpel for this bloke imo.

Carioca, keep an eye on Double Delight which ran 3rd in that race.  Was three wide without cover and working throughout, entitled to tire, but was only nosed out of 2nd.

She's bred to hit a brick wall at 1201 metres and was unsurprisingly trained as a sprinter before being transferred to Matt Cumani who's clearly training her to get over ground.

Had a nice initial prep last year.

Goes around over 1500m in the next at Geelong, but as a $1.70 fave!

Nice win first up, hope he can go on with it now.

You'd think he'll be at his best over 2000m and beyond as a mature galloper.

A young stayer that I have high hopes for.

Back to Caulfield 2000m today after a trip away to Sydney.  The current price of $2.60 is a bit tight for me (Jamie Kah factor?), but does look well placed today.

Stuck to his task ok running 2nd today at MV.

This was the 6th run of only his 2nd campaign.  I’d be thinking about tipping him out and looking at some off season races in the summer & early autumn.

He’ll turn out to be a good Saturday class stayer in time.

Despite his failure today at Randwick over 2400m, I still like this horse.

I’m no expert but he’d had a long campaign already so I’m not sure it was a smart play to travel interstate for his first test at 2400m.  As I said after his MV run last month, I’d have sent him for a break.  Case of going to the well once too often today.
