The Victorian Ombudsman will not refer the Labor Party's so-called "red shirts rorts" to the anti-corruption watchdog or police, after a fresh report into the scandal found no evidence Premier Daniel Andrews facilitated the scheme.

Today the 5th August 2020 is the anniversary of the day Andrews launched the sixth and most viciously over the top lockdown to break the transmission of COVID. It was supposed to run for seven days but it stretched to seventy seven days . There was an 8pm curfew - people were pinged for putting out their rubbish bin at 8.15pm, they were locked in their homes for 22 hours a day , travel was limited to 5 km from your home , only one member of your household was allowed to go shopping , you were banned from sitting in a park or walking along the beach and children's playground swings were chained.
At that time in Victoria there were five to six cases a day and no deaths, yet the lockdown ended when there were more than 2000 cases a day. Today in Victoria cases are around 10,000 a day with between 110 and 40 deaths a day, yet Andrews has not re-introduced any lockdown . Why you may ask ? Andrews is scared that an anti lockdown backlash could cost him government at the up coming state election later this year, although the way the Victorian Liberals are travelling at the moment, Andrews could be up on any criminal charge you want to name ,and he still is a shoe-in to win that election.

There were no vaccines 2 years ago, people were at the mercy of Delta so they went to the centuries old means of controlling pandemics, isolation and masking. How many lives were saved? Morrison claimed 40,000.
Now there are plenty of vaccines and anyone who chooses to not get vaccinated or boosted does it at their own risk.

PT, Okay I got that date wrong, the sixth lockdown was on the 16th August last year. here is the press release from the Premiers department Extended Melbourne Lockdown to Keep Victorians Safe16 August 2021 Due to the ongoing level of community transmission of coronavirus in Victoria, the current lockdown across Melbourne will be extended and a curfew will be put in place across metropolitan Melbourne. After almost two weeks of restrictions in Victoria, it’s clear the number of coronavirus cases out in the community is still too high, it’s spreading too far and there are too many exposure sites cropping up every day. |

I presume you meant 2022?
On 5-8-2021 only 3.5 million doses had been administered in Victoria. Now there are 16.3 million. Not much protection a year ago.

On the 5-8-21 820 of Australia's 932 deaths were in Victoria and your mob, led by Peta Credlin had already tried to get Dan locked up because of it.

Fun fact: Labor has been in power 29 of the last 40 years in Victoria and with the Liberal Party being decimated in May losing all their blue ribbon seats there is nothing to suggest they can turn it around on a state level in 100 days.

That will not worry Dan in the least, if he happens to win the upcoming election, in which he is odds on, he will resign from parliament half way before the following election with a healthy parliamentary pension and some cushy job from one of his 'business " mates that has benefited from his policies over his time as premier.

Gee I'd love to be a fly on the wall at your up coming luncheon. I have images of Statler and Waldorf from the muppets in my head - love your contributions though so keep up the good work
Statler and Waldorf are a pair of Muppet characters best known for their cantankerous opinions and shared penchant for heckling. The two elderly men first appeared in The Muppet Show in 1975, where they consistently jeered the entirety of the cast and their performances from their balcony seats. |

Who would guess ? It has come to light over recent email disclosures that back in November 2017 Ferrari-driving property developer John Woodman organised a charity golf event in Dan Andrew's honour and that many figures from the property development industry would be in attendance. These emails provide new detail on contact between Andrews and Goodman, whose relationship has been examined in the state anti-corruption body' probe into allegations of dodgy land deals between MPs and developers.
The Premiers' Private Office has refused to release further correspondence on "technical grounds". The whole idea for the charity day in Andrew's honour came after a meeting between the pair at the Flower Drum restaurant, the most prestigious Chinese restaurant in Melbourne, where as an appetiser a whole Roast Cantonese style duck will set you back $70 or a bowl of chicken and sweet corn soup or a small bowl of fried rice will cost $20, then after a main course of eye fillet steak at $50 you can top it off with a bottle of 2018 Bonneau du Martray Grand Cru (Corton-Charlemagne, France) at $ 515. Just as well SC's preferred dining experience is not Chinese

Not so long ago dined at the Flower Drum. It's now but a pale shadow of its former self, though still as expensive, and will never set foot in the place again.
For those who follow ex-owner Gilbert Lau, his old staff from the Flower Drum and Lau's Kitchen earlier this year opened a restaurant in Aberfeldie by the name of Benyue Kitchen. It's said to be truly marvelous and far less expensive than the Flower Drum. |

SC, that is interesting I first went to the Flower Drum in the late 1970s when Gilbert Lau was the owner, I think he was the joint owner with a fellow Chinese, but I cannot recall his name. I have not eaten there in 30 years so I am unaware of whether it is a shadow of itself, but when I ate there all those years ago it was not considered that expensive or that exclusive.

Bob it obviously wasn't very exclusive if they let you in.
The 2nd last time I went there Flower Drum in walked your mate Barry Humphries. Actually nodded to him and he pretended he knew who I was. He was a regular and had his own private table. Fast forward to Lau's Kitchen in St Kilda, and who had become a regular there? Yep, Edna after giving FD the khyber. So if you head out to Aberfeldie there's half a chance you'll be rubbing shoulders with Bazza.

The Flower Drum opened in 1975, I certainly went there in its infancy, well before it gained its reputation. Gilbert was in his late thirties at that time now in 2022 he is 82 years of age .how time flies .
