I know it's only Sandown in Winter but wasn't he super impressive? Clap No stories up on him yet.
He does have a beautifully matched pedigree but it's very rare these days to see ND 3 x 4 Shocked

Suspect he'll be front and centre on more than a few racing sites in no time at all.

He's all dressed up and ready to go so maybe a run in a 2500m quality hcp at Flemington on 12 Sep into either the Colin Stephen on the 27th in Sydney or the RM Ansett Classic at Mornington a day later.

Sounds like a good plan there SC.

Plenty of 3rd tier races in the early spring that are perfect for good stayers that are fit & rolling already.

Vic horses are still banned from Sydney though, so unless that changes he will have to stay here.

Mainstream media appear to be unfazed but not Archie B/PeterProfit:

Sandown midweek staying races tend to be pretty weak affairs, much like Wednesday races on the Kenso, but I strongly suspect we might just have seen two very good horses race in one day.

This one is in Melbourne, and its name is Cadre Du Noir, and it just absolutely donkey licked its opponents in a BM70 over 2400 metres in manner that suggests it may very well be a horse who might be very hard to beat as it steps up through the classes during the Spring.

In fact, I will go way out on a limb and suggest that in what thanks to the virus is increasingly looking like being one of the weakest Melbourne Spring Carnivals in living memory, this bloke trained by the all-conquering Maher/Eustrace stable may even be a live hope in the the Cups, if of course the Victorians can hold off COVID and get there.

The US bred, lightly raced UK raced import is likely to need an ownership change to get there himself however, for he is presently owned by the very aptly named Phoenix Thoroughbreds, the shonky middle-eastern money laundering outfit that is tens on to be kicked out of racing any time soon, as growing revelations about the source of its cash paint it as very black indeed.

I am sure the international task force that will end up seizing Phoenix’s assets will have no trouble at all finding a buyer though; in fact given the way this thing won by an ever widening ten odd length margin with the soon to be spelled Ben Melham swinging against it like his namesake Hur in the first lap of a chariot race, I reckon they will be beating off the horde of bidders at the door.

Check out the replay of race 6 at the Hillside today and tell me that I’m wrong.

And remember that you heard this one here first too.

I've been scouring for an article on him to post, where have you found one?  Could you either link or paste please?

Cadre Du Noir (USA) Raced keenly in the middle stages. Near the 1400m commenced a run three wide before crossing to obtain the lead. Near the 1900m was restrained to avoid the heels of Monmouth (J. McNeil) which shifted in when not sufficiently clear. Post-race veterinary examination of Cadre Du Noir (USA) identified the presence of blood at one nostril. Under the provisions of AR79(8) will be required to undergo a satisfactory gallop of at least 1000 metres in the presence of a Steward before racing again.

A couple of tipsters have made him the lay of the day. I personally think he'll be extremely hard to beat.

Well done to those tipsters that had him as lay of the day.

But I do hope connections press on to a Colin Stephen Quality.  Just so we can get another look at him & determine whether he had an ordinary day today or if he’s only an average off season stayer.

Super return by this guy yesterday running 3rd over 1600m at Caulfield.

Should be some nice targets for him up in Qld - thinking races like Brisbane Cup, Tatts Cup, Caloundra Cup level

It was disappointing to see him so far back on a track that favoured those up front. Can't recall any other horse coming so close from so far back on the whole card. One to follow.

And I did hear a respected tipster mention very early in the day that the grass was long , a curse for run on horses imo.

He's a nice horse, just a shame about the ownership.

Had a small wager on this guy today, so was thrilled to have a nice collect - after being on a losing streak.

Although he only a BM78 he’ll take good improvement out of the race given he was only 3rd up at 2400m after a long, long spell.

Could be a lightweight chance in Newcastle Cup &/or Metrop Hcp

I had Chalk Stream and Realm of Flowers as my top 2 in the City Tatts Cup today, so this guy went around without me.

Definately handled the heavy conditions better than his rivals.  Given he’s not entered for either of the Spring Cups, he can stay up in rainy Sydney for some more G3/Listed staying races over the next month or so.

Was going well last autumn but hasn’t got warm in 4 starts this autumn.

Noticed he won a 2400m hurdle trial at Traralgon today.  Not sure if he’s embarking on a jumps campaign or just Ciaron trying to spark him up for some winter staying races.

Given he was a black type winner only last Spring, this guy was pretty disappointing at his hurdle debut yesterday at Pakenham with a well beaten 5th of 7.

Maybe he improves at his second go over the sticks or better on a heavier track.  But for mine he just didn’t stay the 3200m, which doesn’t augur well for a jumps career.

For a 2400m horse who prefers soft tracks this guy ran a great race in the Blamey Stks to finish 7th of 14 beaten only 2.45L Ada 200/1 shot.

He is entered for the Sydney Cup, which is probably a bit rich but plenty of other options like an Easter Cup or Mornington Cup over the next few months.

Maybe they saw the Matthew Smith runner finish second in last years cup Lord after he raced over the sticks.

I would say that he is at least the equal of True Marvel so the Sydney Cup might not be out of reach, of at least gaining a run.

I also thought he ran very well.
