I think after the last few months we need some more diversions so I will start a Fantasy League competition for the village.

The official competition will start next weekend 15th FEB, but can give it a whirl this weekend if you wish.

Competition rules.

Selections.

1. You get to select a jockey for the day, in Melbourne and Sydney.

2. You can select one horse in each black type race. No sales based or restricted races included.

3. You can select a trainer in both Melbourne and Sydney. Please note that if your selected trainer has runners in the otehr city, you will score points for the trainer if the horse in the otehr city places.

4. You get to select a banker. This is your best bet for the day.

5. If you select a horse for two runs in a row and it records two wins, then you gain double the points on offer.

Points system.

1. The points are given on a 3, 2, 1 basis for each race.

2. There is a prizemoney section as well, which sees all the prizemoney all your trainers, horses and trainers gain.

3. The banker selections will be worth ten points.

4. If a horse wins two races in a row, and you select the horse in both wins, you will gain double points for the second win, so this means you gain six points instead of three.

5. Each weeks leading pointscorer, will get a five point bonus to the overall score.

6. If you select a winner at $21+, you will also double your score from three points to six

Good luck everyone!

I will do a list of selections for this week so everyone can see how this will work!

I wanted to see furious if there was enough interest in a village supercoach type of competition.

The basic elements are the same as the racing supercoach competitions in the newspapers, but the one difference is there is no selecting a stable, and you can make your selections from week to week without any restrictions, so no maximum amount to spend.

If there is enough interest then the spring comp will be bigger and better, but lets get through the autumn one first.

I forgot the competitions length and it will go through to the Champagne Stakes day April 18th.

I made sure I did my selections last night. Then only had to check for scratchings this morning - with back ups already chosen.
No way I could have done it today - too many other things happening...

Voyager, are you able to put in the list of races each week? Just to save a bit of time...

I will put up the black type races on Wednesday mornings

I have tried to PM Gay to pin it above last years comps, but my connection is very dodgy and it is not sending the PM's, so I will continue to do that furious
