I feel the same Jujuno about avoiding the vaccine, just follow the rules and do my best to protect myself. Living rural is a great plus, our own little lock down is fine. Our area in the Northern Rivers is in a bubble for now and hopefully will remain that way.
Many or most I know in our circle are like minded on this issue.

It certainly seems we are heading into an era where a constant flow of Vaccines are forthcoming to curb every new variant of Covid 19.
Personally I am not completely anti vac, but do think the vaccines on a whole are over the top. We only had a few when I was growing up, but now it seems there is something for just about everything.
The pharma companies have done a great job for themselves.

early on in the pandemic, I woke up early one morning, feeling really horrible. Had the worst headache I'd ever had and was struggling to breathe. Daughter rang an ambulance and the ambos took less than two minutes to decide I probably had covid. I was whisked off to POW, assessed there as being a definite candidate and taken into the new covid isolation emergency ward. Tested, treated, given some oxygen and later, when my breathing was more relaxed, allowed to go home. Next morning, the hospital rang to say my test was negative, but they wouldn't guarantee it was correct, since they occasionally had false negatives...and my symptoms definitely mimicked the virus. I was advised to isolate in case the test was wrong.

Took nearly ten days before I could breathe properly, even using all my asthma medication. It wasn't an asthma attack...that I know.

I am still convinced I had covid, but the early testing was not perfected enough to prove it.

So, I'm not worried about waiting for the safest vaccine.

Do you think you now have natural immunity form the virus, that would be good, but perhaps you could still carry it ??

Is that a Sydney person, TJ?? If it's a Melbourne person I guess it's understandable to send the Pfizer supplies where most needed at the moment.

regional nsw stayer

Frustrated regional and rural leaders say they “haven’t got a hope in hell” if Sydney’s COVID-19 outbreak leaks into their communities and are seeking clarity from the NSW government after it diverted up to 40,000 of their Pfizer doses to Year 12 students in the city’s most affected suburbs.

People outside Greater Sydney began receiving text messages on Friday and Saturday from NSW Health advising their Pfizer “vaccination appointment will need to be rescheduled.”

“Pfizer vaccines are being redirected to assist in vaccinating Year 12 students in South Western and Western Sydney to help them return to face-to-face teaching,” the message said.

They shouldn't even legally be allowed to cancel bookings for NSW people. Seems like a broken contract to me.

Vaccination cancellations leave Hunter, Central Coast residents confused and angry

There is frustration, anger, and confusion in the Hunter and Central Coast regions after COVID-19 Pfizer vaccinations, including those for priority workers, were cancelled and redirected to Sydney hotspots.

Key points:

  • Hunter and Central Coast residents have had their Pfizer vaccinations cancelled and redirected to hotpot areas in Sydney
  • Health authorities say people in priority groups received text messages "unintentionally"
  • MPs say its unfair and confusing for the locked-down Central Coast to have doses redirected

Over the weekend, locals who had booked their vaccinations, including at the Belmont mass vaccination clinic which services the two regions, received text messages saying their appointments will need to be rescheduled.

JJ you do realise its only a matter of time before you get Covid. Almost a mathematical certainty the way things are going - if not this variant the next one or the one after that. You have to weigh up which is the lesser of 2 evils. Getting vaccinated ASAP would have to be the way to go i would have thought - you will be just fine. Thumbs Up

One things for sure - we cannot go on living like this forever. As soon as the vaccination get up to a reasonable figure we need to run the gauntlet. Those who wont / dont will have to take their chances.

It is laughable those who insist on blaming the government for their predicament.
Keep it up, more doses for those who dont complain.

Jees jj  you said categorically you were going to get the vaccine
now you doubt it.
