SKY nutters still want all state borders opened. Why not, if Melbourne can become a hot spot, why not spread the fun around.

That isn't being fair Max .. Whether it is palatable or not to you , the point is life has to go on , Production has to re commence and the destruction of our economy has to stop.
Your making an issue of Vic, 100 age care deaths , when 3500 others passed away and no mention from you about them. The virus will most certainly find its way around the Country, May take years , as a seasonal flu. America will have more inoculated than Qld , as will Victoria. |

The same SKY ratbags who want "open slather", bemoan the fate of the those in the aged care facilities, as the result of "ageism" in society. What the hell are they talking about, they died from a virus they seem to want to allow to spread further.

Whatever, for the love of life, STAND BY DAN. Ps, my sincere sympathy to the now 2,000 plus Victorian suicides and the 5,000 plus currently fighting for life / or left brain dead. But stand by Dan

Dan will stand or fall on the inquiry he called into himself. I see today they said all cabinet meetings were recorded so the discussions around hotel quarantine and what actually happened regarding the military are there for the Commissioner to examine.

Until earlier this week NZ had no cases, now positives are back and are increasing. Presently other than Victoria & NSW positive cases are minimal in Australia, do those other states really think they will not get a second or third wave ? In due course those other states will no longer be immune from a second or third wave and if at that time if Victoria & NSW have minimal cases , how will be their reactions if Victoria and / or NSW close their borders ?

BB, the greatest risk comes from outside, the NZ occurrence is suspected to have arisen from imported frozen goods.

Forget that word Wave .... There's only one sars 2. Like Santa , it will visit every house... over time ... Just like all it's family does.
They are now known as seasonal Flu .. Which you get a flu shot for = That doesn't work ---- But the drug companies have to live too. Accept the numbers , The facts that Sky put forward ---- Or dispute them. Give us your numbers. |

macca, you appear to be convinced that (A) No vaccine will be forthcoming, and (B) that herd immunity is inevitable. Neither supposition can be taken as a fact.

That has been the pattern of life since day 1 ..
It is known as NATURE max . Not suppositions , They are facts of life. ----------------------------- Isn't it reasonable to assume , that Man has not been able to come up with a vaccine for this family of Virus in hundreds of years , That they won't come up with one now .... I expect there will be many claims of a vaccine , which you will swallow , because your expert said so , But NO , Mother nature will keep on keeping on. |

The virus can't be kept out ...
Supplies have to go in , All the care in the world may reduce the risk , but there's no 100% method .... They are not totally cut off from every area of life ... The reasons for lock downs is to reduce the pace. Avoid Health services being over run ... Australia only had 8 cases outside Victoria that needed ICU ... That's a lot of empty beds , denying others treatments, that may save their lives . This is the biggest Government bungle we have experienced ... Look at Rusty's Sweden -- It's on clover. |

The strategy is to contain it, till a vaccine arrives. Which may not happen, but the person who says, "there will be no vaccine, so open everything now" will be damned if proven wrong.

Wash the mouth out .... The word vaccine is only a dream you must realise.
Plus your play on words to justify your point isn't impressive . Who said (Open everything now) NO ONE... What has been said is , get on with normal life , Open the economy , work as normal and concentrate on protecting the vulnerable. What about the 3500 Australians , that die each weeek. Have you a plan for them too. |

Put it this way, it is considered a distinct possibility, to be successful. But no certainty. Naturally there is no appetite to "die wondering" if one could have been developed.

Smallpox is effectively extinct except for several doses locked away securely in case it somehow returns.
Flu changes and returns every year, several times, otherwise only one would be needed. If successful you mean it is 50-70% effective and slows the reproductive rate to below 1...certainly.Still kills 600,000 a year.

An inquiry into the Ruby Princess cruise ship has identified "serious", "inexcusable" and "inexplicable" mistakes by NSW Health. The ship docked in Sydney on March 19 and about 2,700 passengers disembarked despite signs of illness on board. A special commission of inquiry investigated the decisions of those involved, including Carnival Australia, NSW Health and Federal Government agencies. Commissioner Bret Walker SC handed his 315-page report to the NSW Government today and found all passengers on board should have been tested for COVID-19. He laid bare multiple failings during the "sorry episode", taking particular aim at mistakes by NSW Health. This included missing a "significant spike" in illness on board the ship in the days before it docked in Sydney, along with the "inexcusable" delay in testing more than a dozen swabs from the ship. "It is inappropriate and unhelpful to make recommendations to experts that in truth amount to no more than 'do your job'," Mr Walker wrote. NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian said she would read the report over the weekend and comment early next week. The Ruby Princess became the country's first major COVID-19 cluster and resulted in hundreds of positive cases and at least 22 deaths. |

Prime Minister Scott
Morrison says he is "deeply sorry" for failures in the aged care
sector during the coronavirus crisis, but has defended the Government's overall
response. Key points: ·
Prime Minister Scott Morrison says
on "some days" the Government's handling of coronavirus in aged care
homes fell short ·
The aged care royal commission
yesterday heard the sector remained unprepared for COVID-19 ·
Most of
Australia's COVID-19 deaths have been linked to aged care |

YES ... Not successful or people wouldn't be dying like flies every Flu season around the world . Many vaccines are claimed to be successful by the >EXPERTS< But the Drug Companies probably buy that assumption. Some 200 years ago it was noted that people who caught cow pox didn't seem to get Small Pox . That info took a long time to be mastered but was eventually successful . Would appear a style of herd immunity. How come no one mentions swine Flu , a similar outbreak 10 years ago . |

As long as I can remember .... every winter at least ... We had "sickies .. galore ... > We said keep away from me , with your bug , One in the house with the Flu ...All down usually ...In Hospitals it went gang busters ..Killed heaps of the vulnerable ... What is new now .
We know this one is severe ..but the pattern not new ...what is new is the Hysteria and the slimy way China's negligence infected the world . |
