What happened with the Manly player at training today? Died after falling ill. Heart or brain maybe?

Developing assistant coach and veteran player Michael Gordon has been charged over drugs offences as part of major operation on Gold Coast. Titans have stood him down pending investigation. Details

Hard not to like Fatty. Fatty, Rabbits , Sterlo all still come across really well. Quite an accomplishment when you consider the number of ex-players that have come & gone in-between

I think that was a reward for invariably referring to Wally Lewis as "the king". Wally did omit himself from the greatest team, but that was always going to be over-ruled. Off the top of my head, I would say Slater was Qld's best over 40 years, one of the great clutch players of all time.

Had to laugh when Fatty Vautin somehow was included in Qld's greatest Origin team - even if it was on the bench. Bless his heart he was a trier - but hardly good enough for that award

The stats would show that backing NSW religiously over the years, a dud strategy, I would think they have started favourite probably 3 out of 4, but won less that half.

An interesting stat in that there have only been 7 clean sweeps in the nearly 40 years of Origin - & only one since 2000.

NSW Blues - the gift that just keeps on giving for the Corporates. Would love to see the starting price statistics for every SOO game since its introduction.

Particularly in the second half there seemed to be a lot of extended sets in the NSW quarter with 6 Again calls, many it seemed deep into the set. More impact if you get one on the 4th or 5th tackle rather than 1st or 2nd.

A lot of possession. and the score should have read at least 30-14 really, the way they bombed tries on the Qld left edge, keeping NSW in it. Following the Addo-Carr professional foul, there was another infringement that ought to have landed another Qld player in the bin, it is almost certain NSW would then have scored. They were lucky to win after squandering opportunities, and instances of ill-discipline. I didn't hear Brad Fittler say anything post-match, probably thought he had it in the bag after the previous week.

Yeah i get the the possession bias. Cant remember too much ref bias though PT - no major clangers that influenced the game. Probably say QLD got the usual home ground advantage expected as in most games

Just trying to find the reason for the Blues losing last night. Cleary had a fair game i thought - losing Teddy a blow - & a few dumb errors - but really just have to say QLD where the better team for at least three quarters of the game. Oh - & Hasler went ok as well (sorry Macca)

He wouldn't be the fastest under 17 in the world -he'd be 10m behind the fastest under 17 in the world over 100m.

They need to rethink the tipping of a barrel of ice water over the coach thing. Bennett is 107 years old, the poor old bastard probably has pneumonia now.

Qlder, what came out of the game is origin is as huge spectacle as ever , watched bit at the Jack here in cairns , packed with a 20 minute line up to get in ,that says it all and gees the place erupted at every positive Qld foray . People hugging strangers after the siren , it divides and also brings people together

I don't know why NSW did not field Papenhuyzen, he is as dangerous as Addo-Carr. Seems an odd omission.

Could the NSW State of Origin team, without Addo-Carr & Finucane, both Melbourne Storm players, beat the 2020 Melbourne Storm premiership team with those two playing for Storm. I know the Queensland State of Origin team could not because 5 in that team play for Storm.
Even if Cameron Smith retires and is replaced by Harry Grant, surely Melbourne Storm is the side to beat in 2022.

Qld bombed several seeming certain tries on their left hand edge, yet still managed to win it, they let NSW back into it about 11 times, and yet they still fell short.

Ok - Qld had a bit of luck - I agree. But a few facts - they were 1 all going into the game. The decider was being played in Qld in front of a squillion screaming Queenslanders - & our of the last 5 games played up there Qld have won 4 of them. And NSW get served up at $1.40. Deary me !
