LOL

Why do they keep giving them to Kris Lees? Confused That's one of the mysteries of the era.

I think T that one of the senior members of the Australian Bloodstock group is a close friend of Lees.

I like Kris as a trainer, but I agree, he is not a group 1 trainer, as his strike rate with the number of group 1 starters he has is not good.

However saying that Mustajeer just had no chance with the lack of speed in that race yesetrday.

No one had the nous to put some pace into the race, Hunting Horn sits 3 wide with no cover and happy to be there , wtf, didn't mind being the bunny at home for the other six stablemates smoking the clay behind him, I'll bet he was told Not to lead yesty. there was only one jockey in that race yesterday that rode with initiative , Willo.

Not sure if he’s been to the trials yet, but remember reading something about him resuming in the St George Stks 1800m - which is only 3 weeks away.

I’d assume the Aust Cup & Tancred Stks would be on the agenda after that.

I know he was blowing out the cobwebs in the St George Stks yesterday & it was hard to make up ground, but watching the replay that was a very pedestrian effort running last beaten over 7 lengths.

He’s still 2nd favourite for the Tancred Stks, but he’ll have to have to make massive improvement at his next start in the Aust Cup to be chance in the target races in Sydney.

I do not know how much they pay for these horses from Ballydoyle but has anybody ever thought to set up a National Hunt in Victoria with these leftovers ?

I recall reading before the Cups last year that David Hayes paid $3.0m for Constantinople & Cape of Good Hope as a pair.

Too early to write them off completely, but on their autumn form it seems unlikely either really has much of a future on the track.

Ran 16th of 16 in the Heatherlie Hcp a couple of weeks ago.

Now listed on Racing Aust website as Spelling - so Spring 2020 appears to have been aborted.  Things have certainly gone downhill quickly for this expensive import Ouch

Really not sure where connections go with this guy now?

I noticed that Norway (another ex-Aiden O’Brien stayer) is currently for sale on Inglis Digital after neither CJW or Pete Moody could spark him into form.

Maybe Constantinople will pop up for sale shortly, or they could put him in a trial hurdle & see if he’s adept at jumping.

What surprises me is just how plain bad some of these top G1/2 Euro types race over here. Many can't even win a mid week race. Constantinople would have cost a small fortune.

You shouldn't be surprised Red Rancher , most that are sold have reached their mark and on the slide , their form may look good but remember something has to run 2nd or 3 rd in small fields , plus the fact there maybe a hidden internal problem or a suspensory that on the wane but 3 months in the paddock may hide it until the pressure goes on ( 6 months later ) Caveat Emptor mate , the Poms ain't mugs , anyone here improves Wallers LOLLOL I sincerely doubt it.  How Mugatoo slipped through that net is a damn mystery . Smile

Just watched the replay of the Bool Cup.  Much improved effort from this horse today.

Was posted 3-4 deep the trip & boxed on ok in the straight.

Maybe there is a weak Saturday handicap race over the winter for him.

8th of 9 beaten 38 lengths today.

After that Caulfield Cup 4th in 2019, he’s been a real bust for connections.

The Hayes stable have rejuvenated Valac by sending him jumping.  Think that might be the only racing future for Constantinople too.

Think the horse is cooked LH. The tactics today looked like a desperate attempt at finding something that is no longer there - desire to be a race horse.

Alternatively, could he be sent West?
Similar to what the stable did with Neufbosc last year.
May rejuvenate him, may not.
