Just keeps raising the bar.
Looking forward to following him progress and you would think he will be better next prep too.

Nice horse. Nothing behind him today beats him in the Guineas, so he is the logical fav for mine. Did it pretty easy today. Had a bit on that lot.

I must have watched a different race. He had 3 1/2 lengths on Dalasan at the top of the straight and beat him by 3/4 of a length. I know who the logical fav will be come the Guineas.

As an aside, just great to see a really nice bloke like Ryan Maloney turn it around big-time in more ways than one.  Thumbs Up

Agree Dalassan should be favourite - but Alligator Blood will have a lot more improvement to come, only 2nd up today after over a month since his first run. Dalassan had the fitness edge on him today.

Had him anchor quite a few legs on Saturday and didn't think we'd get $4, let along $5.80.

I do like this guy and GROUNDSWELL for the Guineas.

Kingy, just a word of warning.

The Caulfield Guineas winner has not done the double since Helmet in 2011.

This pattern is very significant because every prelude winner has run, but has been unable to do the double. A couple have placed but it is not a good record for the winners of the prelude.

It seems that since its switch the Stan Fox has become a good guide along with the Stutt Stakes, but again not the winner.

He looked good on the weekend, very impressive. I look forward to following his progress through the spring. A very nice Queenslander.

Marvelous female family and great up top too.

Pedigree suggests 1600m absolute tops and believe he might find the last 200m of the Guineas a hard ask.

Only time will tell.

Marvelous horse, marvelous result.

His sire line is line-bred to Last Tycoon and Rolls, his dam line similarly to Last Tycoon and Rolls.  The latter being the dam and grand-dam of outstanding racehorses and sires Flying Spur and Encosta De Lago respectively.

Huge win today, after all the pre race dramas.   He went past them like they were standing still .  Is great to see All Too Hard get a good one , shame he is a gelding tho.

I disagree AA, I think its a great thing that he’s a gelding!

Look forward to seeing him competing in all the major 1400-1600m races over the next 3 or 4 years. If he were a colt, he’d likely have a handful more starts to get a G1 win in the autumn & be at stud as a spring 4yo.

If we get Catalyst, Alligator Blood an Super Seth at Flemington, what a race.

Very talented galloper, now the trainer needs to decide whether they keep going or he gives him a break.

Yes, that too, from a racing perspective.  Thumbs Up
Just saying it would be nice for ATH to have a good sire son to carry on the line.

He was outstanding, taking into account the delay and the heat he would have endured in the truck, plus the stress of it all.
I must say I didn't give him much hope of finishing the race like he did.
A Champ in the making. me thinks....

Didn't beat much yesterday, but did it easily, and as mentioned, after the hiccup ... what a record, he just keeps winning ... got a bit out of the race, standing him with the tri and F4, the only thing I thought could get close was scratched.

In reference to every post in the Trump thread ... "There may have been a tiny bit of license taken there" ... Ok, Thanks for the "heads up" PT!

Nothing better than a tough two-horse war. That was very exciting & thrilling the way AB stretched his neck out close to the line.

And the big bonus is they’re both geldings, so hopefully racing fans get to see these 2 clashing for many seasons to come!

Interesting the NZ horse looked to be travelling far the better but the Blood just would not let him get past him. Going to be an amazing horse hopefully he stays sound.

Given the excessive whip use, would the stewards have protested on behalf of Alligator Blood connections had Catalyst got up?
