Gee now there's a surprise - Mr Fitzsimons supporting Raelene. I mean he has been such a strident critic in the past - & his predictions from day 1 have been so accurate ;

" Only " ? And here we have hundreds of thousands out of work and struggling to pay their bills. And poor Izzy only got 500k. My heart bleeds for him.

So too Dave Rennie our new coach, or so it appears. Big Dave has told the press he will re-consider his position should Raelene get the push........now should we be worried or distressed? The Kiwi Mafia running Oz rugby? bugger off Dave and let's get a coach that cares for the team and it's future, not your mates.

It must have been an affirmative action hire in the first place - positive discrimination, Fitzy - because she didn't have any runs on the board coming into the job.

Phil Kearns. Why would you make a boofhead hooker CEO? Is he some kind of financial management star, belying his boofhead looks, and I'm just not aware of it?

"On finishing his professional rugby career, Phil’s career remained
hectic with his work - becoming Managing Director of an IT Consulting
firm, then in 2011 he commenced as CEO of a leading wealth management
firm." Hmm - Centric Wealth CEO. Never heard of them but wealth is not exactly my specialty. "Former international rugby star and Centric Wealth boss Phil Kearns has
been appointed managing director of insurance brokerage InterRisk
Australia." "Following his Wallabies career, Mr Kearns worked at Investec and AMP before heading up financial advice firm Centric Wealth."
“Phil has been responsible for successfully leading diverse people-based financial services businesses and managing significant corporate transactions in wealth advisory and other industries,” said InterRisk chairman Dennis Guy. “His leadership skills and commercial acumen are extremely valuable assets to drive this business forward.” |

Agree Bonjour - getting rid of him at the same time would be a bonus. Probably paying him a squillion as well. At least if he left now he would have a better record than if he stayed - that's just a given !

Here we go Bonjour - thought there was more to it. The new coach is reportedly on 1 million / year contract - & is now apparently getting cold feet. Thinks he might be heading for a stitch up ;

Hang on - help me out here. Raelene takes a 50% pay cut until the end of the financial year (approx 3 mths) - & the rest of the Executive staff 30%. 75% of staff are then laid off without pay - & then Raelene asks all players to take a 65% pay cut for 6 months. Why does she think that sounds reasonable ? Hasn't she heard of leading by example ? Just because it is likely to be her last pay packet for a decade - it is still hardly reasonable. She is probably throwing a performance bonus in for herself based on that recent self-appraisal survey

Hey oneone I see ol Raels can accept a nice little bonus (as you mentioned above) for all the hard yakka she has done so far.
I’m sure you would be supportive of her accepting this well deserved Easter present. https://www.foxsports.com.au/video/rugby/super-rugby/castle-in-line-for-114k-bonus!772023 |

Why would anyone be surprised Softly. Imagine how much she would have given herself if the game had lost only 5 million instead of 10 million ?

How much did NRL executives give themselves? Channel NINE sounded very upset about their ''bloated'' spending at the top, and they didn't even save their code from the wrath of Izzy's God by getting rid of him.

bonjour, has Rugby ever really been that successful since becoming professional. The players average pay is way lower than league and the structure of the game from bottom up needs looking at. League players can start getting paid good money at a very young age - very attractive for a young elite athlete.
What is the structure for a star young rugby player to start earning good money? The road to the top is a joke. One rugby team in NSW versus 9 NRL teams? They missed a massive opportunity when we hosted the World cup in 2003. Instead of riding the success of that world cup it all went downhill! It's easy to blame Raels for all your current problems but they really run a lot deeper than that and have been there for a lot longer than Raels has been there
