the marriage bust-up was a few years in the making, I believe. Both have new partners...

I'd be surprised to hear the board pushed him out.  I think it was entirely Nathan's decision. The fans on the club's website have been arguing over his coaching, for years...like about ten...

It was a pressure cooker, taking over coaching the most famous club in the AFL, from the previous coach, who had such a reputation.

And that no grand-final victory was the sword of Damocles over his head...

A shame for all involved. If the umps hadn't put the whistle away in the last two minutes of 2018, Bucks would be a premiership-winning coach...and possibly still in his job.

 Cry

Huge upset looming with the Kangaroos 28 points up on GWS at 3/4 time.  Can the Giants kick 6 in the last quarter in order to win?

So Collingwood win a game, sack the coach, then roll the top team in the comp? Not often you get sacked on a ‘winning streak’ LOL

was an emotional departure...

a shame it had to happen. He IS Collingwood. But there was too much dissention amongst the fans and so many were threatening to drop membership...

 the height of ridiculousness...

Collingwood players distancing from each other in the dressing room...after four quarters playing together. They sing the victory song standing a metre apart, then hug each other after it finishes.

great last quarter...but Harvey is still not the coach they need.

SUPERSTAR Tiger Dustin Martin will miss the rest of the season after suffering a significant kidney injury in Richmond's season-saving win over Brisbane.

Martin was taken to hospital after the game and will remain there for several days for observation, while the rest of the team is expected to fly home to Victoria.

Richmond Club Doctor, Greg Hickey said he expected Martin to make a full recovery.

“Dustin stayed the night in hospital for observation and has been seen by a urologist this morning. He is feeling good and remains stable,” Hickey said.

“Given the delicate nature of the injury and recovery timeline, he will not play football again this season.”

The crunching bump with Lions wingman Mitch Robinson in the third term ended the triple Norm Smith medallist's game and saw him in serious pain.

Totally accidental. Blow for the Tigers but more important that he recovers ok.

Jack 6 of the best in his 300th game.

Port Adelaide,  Brisbane, ( no Hipwood )  Footscray  & Richmond ) no Martin )  IMO cannot win the flag.

Probably 2 horse race Geelong: Melbourne, with long shot outsiders Essendon.

Bullies, Swans and Port not entirely out of it. Next round will tell us more abut Brisbane. Essendon 6th at best.  Smile

AFL now in some danger. A number of Swans and Giants players sent into isolation for passing through an infected area at the Rugby Union.

Which, logically, means that the rest of both teams should be classed as casual contacts, having trained with the now isolated group.

And perhaps even worse Collingwood capitulate to Carlton in the last quarter today, possibly the first time the Blues have actually won the final stanza this entire season.  Ouch

In hindsight if Essendon make the finals they will only be making up the numbers, like most of the sides outside of the top four.

Hawthorn religiously follow Collingwood's coaching succession plan, otherwise known as "how to f*ck up the process big time".

With any luck Kennett will be McGuire'd and allow a new President and coach some clean air.  But aren't holding my breath given Jeff isn't happy unless he's (a) No 1 and (b) unnecessarily intruding into the football professionals' area of responsibility.

Maurice Rioli Jnr will be making his debut against North Melbourne at the MCG and way back in 1982, his father Maurice Rioli made his debut against.....the same team - North Melbourne at the MCG. Some big names who played in this game (round 1) in 1982.

Anyone know what Walker said?

It must have been pretty bad, being banned for six matches.

Always seemed a bit of a Richard Cranium...

Just when you think Geelong are almost certain grand finalists, they lose to the Giants, who haven't really produced much, this year...

He appears to be a totally protected species:

Joel Selwood has escaped with his third fine of the year after bumping GWS defender Sam Taylor in the head on Friday night.

The Geelong captain’s incident was graded as careless conduct, high contact and low impact.

If it had been elevated to medium impact under the potential to cause a serious injury provision, the veteran would have been handed a suspension.

BREAKING: indecent assault charges against Jordan De Goey (and friend Jake Edginton) have been withdrawn. Men were due to face a contested hearing today. De Goey’s defence lawyer says it’s a “successful outcome” and Vic Pol has been ordered to pay legal costs.

One of the most bizarre AFL matches I've seen. Melbourne played better for most of the game then the Eagles. Then halfway through the final quarter the match was stopped due to the lightning rule (introduced in 2007). Then the players returned and the Eagles had all of the momentum and nearly won the match. In my opinion the break in play helped the Eagles....Melbourne just stopped. Melbourne only won by 9 points. Tight finish in the end.

Every momentum swing West Coast got came from a cheap free kick that resulted in a goal...

Second quarter, clearly being outplayed... Darling flops with minimal contact, West Coast kick the next 4 I think...

Last quarter after the lightning break, JK gets a really soft free, kicks a goal, west coast kick the next 4...

It's embarrassing
