The Everest is the best sprint race in Australia. The handicapper is not blind.

Suppose weighting up a WFA race allows you to be a little bit blind .

But those who see overseas stakes races as always superior may be a tab a little blind.

Also if a horse has a G3, LR win and a G1 place to his name and another has a LR race win - who should be carrying the bigger weight. Just trying to prove why I don't understand handicapping at all.

In the end there's no right formula for handicapping it is once again someone's opinion.

UK/IRE has proper handicapping we have better handicapping.
I used to think The UK and Ireland had the better system but you just have to look at the jumps racing in the UK this season so see their system whilst correct is not good for the sport. |

Australian racing is only good up to 1400m in terms of world standards when it comes to depth/quality in numbers

I get the impression they are more likely to than not. But anything can happen between now and then.

If VE gets a wet track and can settle (a big if) I think she is a real possibility of winning the Arc. She deserves to be a live 10/1 chance.

VE will probably have more speed than anything in the race and has great stamina based on her Melb Cup win.

Can you imagine her just plodding along midfield one off the fence waiting to unleash that devastating sprint? The French will wonder what hit them as she gives them all windburn much like she gave superior UK stayer Spanish Mission. I heard burn cream had to be applied after the race such was the velocity of the mare as she went past him.

If that is the case you would have to think Shadai would be a major bidder.

Would be nice if Verry Elleegant ran in Europe. Proving nothing more by racing in Australia. Needs a new challenge i think.

Superstar gotta love the way she stuck her head out when it mattered. Just saw her playing up to the crowd on the way back she knows what she's there for what she needs to do. Just a freak.

she is just an amazing mare. Just keeps coming up year after year. To think it took her so long to learn to settle in races. Waller really has done an incredible job with her.
And Jamal - why does she have to go overseas to run for peanuts. Doesn't have to prove anything
