SEVENTEEN teenagers have been arrested as part of an
investigation into a string of aggravated burglaries, robberies and thefts
across
Six
warrants were carried out yesterday morning as part of the investigation —
dubbed “Operation Shops” — with the 17 teens, aged 14 to 17, now facing
charges. Fourteen of the youths have been remanded in custody. The charges follow the “dynamic arrest” of nine males last Thursday as part of the same investigation. |

How do people in Victoria ever feel safe with Dan The Socialist in charge of Bushfire's and Violent African Youth Gangs ... on the positive side, he seems to be very successfully creating more work for people - in the RFS and Policing areas!
Another violent home invasion last night in Melbourne with the father assaulted in front of his kids and $70k woth of stuff stolen as well as property damage.
This time police are after 5 Youths of African appearance, and 1 of Middle Eastern appearance ... nice cocktail of law abiding peace loving citizens right there!
Gang of youths hold knife to Eltham father's throat in violent home invasionA Melbourne father says he had a knife held to his throat when a gang of armed thugs smashed down his front door in a terrifying home invasion this morning. Up to six youths stole a haul worth more than $70,000 after they stormed inside the family's home on Ramptons Rd, Eltham about 5.30am. Ramiz Makouei, 34 told 9News he begged for the safety of his wife and two-year-old son, when the family awoke to the offenders. "They were shouting and they started punching and kicking us … a few of them had a knife," he said. "They were asking for money and car keys. We just gave it to them, everything that we had." |

You know that this problem is not as bad as it seems ... these are the same small group of violent thugs every time ... in Victoria it is a revolvig door if they bother to arrest a criminal, they just put them straight back onto the street to re-offend.
Excellent footage of the young scallywags doing their best work with this report. You gotta love how they wear hoodies and long sleeves and gloves, but then look straight at the camera ...
Youths terrorise customers and staff at Lyndhurst WoolworthsA gang of armed youths has terrorised employees and customers during a violent supermarket hold-up in Melbourne's outer south-east. Footage obtained by 3AW shows a group of youths storming into the Lyndhurst Woolworths at Capital Promenade on Thompsons Road just before 9pm yesterday. The group appears to make demands from staff, before counting back from five and then throwing bottles of soft drink across the counter. Terrified employees can be seen screaming with their arms up in the air, as the offenders barge inside the store. It is understood the youths turned violent when they were busted trying to leave the store without paying for a trolley full of items, including bottles of soft drink, lollies and sausages. 9News understands a woman was allegedly belted with a plastic bat near the cash register. Witness Rob Metz told 3AW he saw the gang assault a female staff member while stealing a trolley of items. "They elbowed her into the chest or neck and she fell back into the door," he said. Mr Metz said he ran after the youths, alongside two other customers, confronting them in the car park. He said he punched three of the four offenders, who then threatened him with a kitchen knife after returning from a car. "When I saw the lady get knocked over and how she was knocked over it turned something in my brain," he said. "The one in front of me tried to hit me first, so I hit him back. I got hit from behind and then hit the other one back." A Woolworths spokesman told 9news.com.au no staff members were injured in the incident and they were being offered counselling services. The store went into lockdown during the incident until police arrived. "There is no place for this aggression and violence anywhere in our community and our thoughts are with those caught up in the incident," he said. "We thank our team for acting quickly to lock down the store in line with our safety procedures. "We've been supporting Victoria Police with its investigations and will continue to help in any we can. "We've also moved to strengthen the security presence at the store." Victoria Police spokeswoman Belinda Batty said the armed group stole the trolley of goods. "Police have been told a knife was produced and several customers attempted to intervene," she said. "No one required medical treatment. The group left the scene in a vehicle and are yet to be located at this stage." The group allegedly fled the scene in a Toyota Kluger. Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime stoppers on 1800 333 000. |

Truly amazing ... Our Governments can wipe out SP bookmakers & Smokers.
Then Provide injecting Rooms and force Police not to nail those users for posession . Aid and abet criminals and add to that , condone these Gangs. Singapores great leader Lee Kuan Yew , addressed the Hawke Government and followers , as to what we faced if we didn't take his advice . How right he was. |

Here we go again, although this gang is from the SE of Melbourne, whereas most of the other gangs work out of the NW suburbs. If they all got together in the CBD it would prove to be an interesting match-up.
FIVE teens have been arrested over a string of incidents in Melbourne’s southeast in the past week. The alleged incidents include an aggravated home invasion in Sandhurst, a firearms offence and assault in Clyde North, an affray at a Lyndhurst shopping centre, and a handful of aggravated burglaries and attempted burglaries. Detectives from the southern metro region crime team yesterday arrested two 16-year-olds and a 15-year-old in Dandenong. A 19-year-old Cranbourne East man was also arrested in Cranbourne East. Victoria Police Senior Constable Alistair Parsons said the arrests came after an initial arrest on February 10. “Detectives previously arrested a 15-year-old male youth,” he said. |

MORE than half a dozen rival teenage gangs have been linked to street brawls, carjackings and home invasions across Melbourne’s suburbs.
A Sunday Herald Sun investigation into the city’s gangs has revealed how the criminals are using social media to boast of their illegal activities and recruit members. The well-organised groups operate across the west, north and southeast of the city. Gang members have told of being recruited as young as 13, knowing they would get bail for their offences and be free to commit more crimes. A current gang member, aged 16, claimed his group would “fight to claim our territory”. “If you have no fear stealing stuff and can brawl, then you’re in,’’ he said. A former gang member, also 16, said: “They have no fear of police.” “As soon as you get out of prison, they hunt you down and want you to come back to the old life,” he said. Commander Tim Hansen of Victoria Police said the force was “working around the clock” to put a stop to youth offending. |

The Government has plenty to answer for on this inaction. |

They were stealing groceries LOL. Why on earth did anyone want to fight them?? That robbery needed compassion, not restraint. Just let them go with the groceries. Woolies is a multi national empire, it is also insured. But nah, dont worry about places like Coles not giving the extra milk money to the farmers, ripping them off $millions, just worry about a couple of black dudes stealing groceries. LOL. As usual, the TRUE criminal, is the victim. Either the banking or shopping empires. Not the dudes clearly desperate for groceries. What on earth were staff thinking, the staff are brainwashed. This robbery looked like an act of desperation. They had fruit n veg in the trolley too. Why wasnt that part mentioned?

Redemption, “act of desperation “ by that gang to fill a shopping trolley with groceries and vegetables ? Obviously you just glanced over that report.Did you notice the time of the day or that store invasion ? It took place at 9 pm, not at 9am.I do not know whether you know much about that shopping centre but do you suppose that all the other shops were closed and that Woolworths was the easy way out to steal anything they could on- sell for a profit ?
Do really think they stole a bunch of broccoli at 9 pm because wanted to take it home to steam over a saucepan of hot water and wash it down with a bottle of stolen mineral water ? |

Ummm Bob, in all respect, but even if they are stealing groceries to "profit", that is most certainly still deemed an act of desperation.
Or is it greed? If you want to start talking about greed, then start with Coles and Woolies Empire, and work your way down. White collar crime is far far worse. They ruin entire nations for profit and greed. Its not even a comparison. Black dudes selling some stolen groceries for profit, what $70 bucks? LOL As for you Dr.E, I am anti socialist, anti communist. But you still have to call BS on some things. Coles and Woolies are MAJOR BULLSH#T empires. |

I might be wrong. but when was the last time Coles or Woolies threaten any person with violence to make a sale. If Harvey Norman or Rebel Sports had been open at 9pm in that shopping centre I doubt broccoli and Schweppes black label lemonade would have been on that gang's shopping list that night.

FWIW, these kids come from things most aussies can't imagine, and they carry it with them, and then they have their weird family situations to ddal with.
And then they're treated differently at school because they're very dark skinned and come from another culture and they seem like dunces in classrooms. No wonder they join gangs. You can't just believe everyone will get on fine. Unless you're a secure, smug idiot. |

15YO (Mohamed Toure) youngest to score a goal in the A-league for Adelaide Utd. Not all are destined to end up in the wrong gangs. This lad is destined to bigger and better things probably outside of OZ.

Who says these gang members are "dark skinned and come from other cultures"?
According to a feature article in yesterday's press there are eight known gangs operating throughout suburban Melbourne at the moment and not all are "dark skinned and come from other cultures". Three out of those eight gangs are African, two are Caucasian, two are from the Pacific Islands and the other gang are from Europe. To assume they have all come from places "Aussies can't imagine and have weird family situations to deal with" is incorrect. Most, if not all, whilst coming from different backgrounds, have been born in Australia and have attended Australian schools.Sorry, I cannot see they have any excuse for joining a gang. They should face the full force of the law and should not be pampered because of their parental backgrounds. They are treating the law abiding citizens of Melbourne as idiots. |

Yet in Sydney - where they do time or get deported for their crimes rather than sent home to reoffend - kids the same age from the same backgrounds are winning sporting, academic and community scholarships and awards ... oh wait, that's right ... Socialism!

That's BS. For the African kids anyway. IMO. They arw left out on a limb with messed up families and you can't blame them past a point for joining gangs. |

“You cannot blame them “ you say, but why do they need to join criminal gangs? They could join a football club or cricket club to associate with people who face the same difficulty in assimilating into the community. I do not expect them to roll up at the local private golf club or philatelic club but surely they could join a football club.
Why do they need to stage “walk ins “ through their nearest Harvey Norman or Rebel Sports store ? |

If they do not want to join a local football/ cricket club, they can do what other teenagers of their age might do...join the scouting movement ,that might get a reaction on this forum, join a gymnasium and take on physical contact sport like boxing or judo , where they can release their aggression , even study a bit harder with their school work, get a part time job, other options are endless, anything but join a criminal gang.
As there are eight of these gangs in Melbourne and each could have around twenty to twenty five in each gang that means in total there are about two hundred in these gangs, surely it is not that difficult for their own communities to step up to the plate and address whatever issues are facing these recalcitrant youths, otherwise the government should enact tougher legislation to bring them in to line. |

Each immigration wave to OZ has set up their own ethnic communities, with halls, sporting clubs, language schools so that folks could have contact with each other and help with the adjustment of immigration. I am product of this here in OZ as well as continuing such contact overseas. Butt after seeing this latest wave here in OZ some of the after effects indicate that assimilation and integration into the social norms of this country are being severely tested. The government made a decision for this kind of immigration then they should also take an active part seeing that this process is inline with the expectation of its electorate. |

Yes Redemption has done that Redemption has high moral standards but she thinks it is okay to steal from those who she deems as dishonourable such as Coles, Woolworth, and terrorise exploited staff

Maybe we are getting back to the old debate that always brings out the calls of racism when its mentioned. That we are bringing the wrong people, people that dont fit into the way of life here, and dont really want to try. As Brudder says, each community has set up its own clubs etc to encourage their families to assimilate, but its obviously not working for some cultures. Some groups seem to really work hard at fitting in , and do a wonderful job of it too, while keeping their own religions and values etc. Others just dont seem to even want to try.

Well this is actually happening. The following initiative has been embraced by the leaders of African ethnic groups and their efforts are on-going, even if results are mixed. Empowering
African communities in Victoria
The African
Communities Action Plan was developed by and for Victoria’s African
communities. Victorian African
Communities Action Plan Opportunities Read about the
opportunities to get involved - the Community Innovation Grant Program and the
Community Employment Brokers Program. On this page:
The action plan has
been developed for Victoria’s African communities by Victoria’s African
communities. Its development was led by the African Ministerial Working Group
(AMWG), a diverse group of 22 people of African heritage, from October 2016 to
February 2018. During this time,
hundreds of people across Victoria’s African communities gave their views and
opinions to help shape the plan. The Action Plan responds to well-known issues,
and aims to uplift and support people to make decisions that improve their
lives. Communities playing a leading role The action plan asks
people in Victoria’s African communities to own, lead and be part of solutions.
It needs cooperation, resources, expertise, knowledge and know-how to create
lasting change. The action plan also asks governments, as well as the civil,
private, academic, philanthropic sectors, to think about how they can work more
closely with African communities to help improve well-being. The action plan is
supported by 4 key principles:
Working for lasting change The action plan
proposes more than 250 actions across 6 focus areas. The suggested actions aim
to create opportunities for all people to belong, contribute and thrive. The
actions also build on work already being done by communities, governments and
others to support people across Victoria’s African communities. The 6 focus areas are:
