Talented ex-kiwi who came out here for one run during the spring.
50% share of the horse has since been purchased by clients of Darren Weir.
Will be having his first run for the Weir team this weekend, targeting some Group 1's in Autumn.

He plays up Enroute almost every start in NZ
Weiry took all the gear off, with natural improvement he can win a G1. Being set for the Aus Cup

Opens $7 with Sportsbet for the Carlyon Stakes this week... was expecting half of that? I trust Weir will work his magic and hopefully the horse is a little more relaxed in the yard before the race.

Ready to win!!

Think his price for the Aus cup is rubbish at $10.00 across the books, if he was still with his NZ stable he would be at least double that. And I am a big fan of the horse.

Hard to know until the field comes out, I liked him as a good value runner in the Emirates/ McKinnon and backed him last start but if all those accept that I am thinking might horses like Ecaudor, Burning Front, Grande Rosso might still have a fitness edge over him 2nd up. Until the field comes out I wont rate the race but he isn't jumping out as a standout rater. I would think next start 1800m is when we will see the best of him.

The yard behaviour is quite normal for this guy. Carries on like a pork chop back in NZ

Can Weir turn him into a genuine G1 horse in Australia? I think he can. I know he's already run 2nd in G1 in NZ but that is NZ.

Looks a very promising horse. Should run well today.

I don't actually think he is in the top handful of open age horses in NZ so will make those formlines look good if he can pick up a G1 in Aus.

I thought once clear of the field he should have let him lay in and just ridden him out. He lost too much momentum pulling on his right rein the whole way. Once you're clear let them drift in as they let down faster.

Today was never his race, will be tough to beat his next start over 1800m. Wont get as far back the longer the trips get either

Humidor has the flashing light on him charging from the back but there is a fair gap between that field and a genuine G1 race. In saying that the further he steps up the better he will be.

How can you make such an absolute statement about it "never" being his race when he was beaten a neck? All he needed was an ounce of different luck e.g. Tom Melbourne doesn't miss the start and applies more pressure, Master Reset applies more pressure, or he runs slightly straighter in the straight and he wins.

Granted it wasn't an ideal race over the trip and track, but I'm not sure it was never his race given the result.

Noticed the same thing at his last race- jockey can barely pull him up after the line. He's flying.

As I stated earlier in the week I didn't think 1600m would suit 1st Up as I believed Burning Front had a fitness edge and would get and easy time in front. I was even more confident when it was announced that Tom Melbourne would be ridden back for this prep, although I highly doubt Tom Melbourne nor Master Reset have the speed to go with Burning Front at 1600m anyway. I think I also said Humidor would be finishing hard late.

This was not his race, next start 1800m is

He was very stiff today not many came from where he did if any and BF got a hot rail and a nice tempo.

He would have been a special at Flemington and had a feeling Caulfield would be his undoing.
