When you look at Mark Latham, another in a longish list of Labor "turncoats" over the years, and how he might have been PM, you realise that the poverty of voting  choices in politics, is dire in many places. This is a function of a populace who will not involve themselves in political parties, at the grass roots level, as a broad representation of the population, this situation becomes an open invitation to all kinds of undesirable opportunists.

You can call them "errors", but they are a function of the complacency of the general population, many of whom regard voting as a chore.
