Doesn't change my point. You aren't interested in rational discussion, you come here to start fights and shove it down our throats. For that, you are a waste of time to talk with.

the best japanese horses can't win the arc
+ the best euros can't win the japan cup
so i think using either race to argue
that 1 country has better horses is flawed.

i suppose you would have to compare them on neutral territory
to get a fair guide.

**it has been argued by some that aussie conditions/racing
is closer to japanese in style, so they are more suited here..then euros
..so aus may not strictly speaking be neutral territory..
what would be/is..?

I was spewing in this race with Epiphaneia. Moreira was more concerned in keeping him 3 wide the entire trip instead of letting his own mount roll along.

I think if the jap horse gets a better ride then it's a different result.

Epiphaneia wasn't in a good mood before the race.

Moreria put the final nail in the coffin ensuring he got no cover.

No doubt which was why it was a great ride of Moreira's and tremendous training effort too

Yeats- had one of the most ridiculous runs I have ever seen in a Melbourne Cup, missed the start and ridden along to take a position midfield on the rail then ended up 3 wide midfield Confused past the post first time, from the 1800m-1400m he had gone around 3 wide to find the lead. At the 1200m he was shaken right up to pressure the leader and clap on a ridiculous speed, at the 400m all the work finally caught up with him and he looked like was going to drop right out as he was paddling yet was coming again on the line to run 7th.

I have no doubt with some sort of half decent ride he runs a place and gets a lot closer to the two Japanese horses. I had Delta Blues pre Caulf Cup huge odds, the quinella and the buttered up for another go at the 20's and still the best result I have had in the cup but I think Yeats should have finished much closer.

Yeats was a huge run. Given no chance by the jockey, did a great job to finish so close.

Aidan O'Brien thought he would come here and smash the local hacks. But it was our most international Melbourne Cup ever. I wish the Japanese would come back.

This race result indicates the quality of Japanese breeding.

can you elaborate why it's a good thing to have a single stallion trifecta a race?

Fair question.

It was more the quality of the mares I was thinking of, but I was not clear on that.

Carling was a superstar racemare. Ruby is a sister to Rock Of Gibraltar and Mandela was a quality mare in Germany.

And part of the reason they do not earn high timeform or International ratings is because of the bunched finishes in their top class races.

And 2 of the 3 horses I tried to buy for a partnership getting the quinella in the Tenno Sho. Pretty sure they'd be hard to beat in a MC. Had a decent win, backed both and had the quinella.

A Sebring I choose from the sales won over there this week.  After four unplace turf runs he won on the dirt!  Sometimes I think things are very strange.
