Lets see if he gets where he should get.

Luca must be flabbergasted.

Trench warfare has had 4 half siblings who were also bred to stay. One unrated by shocking, two by savabeel and one by Cape blanco and have won 4 from 44 between them. The best being the Cape blanco who has placed in a G2 NZ over 2400. Granted this has started on positive but has to overcome the family history.

When you consider it has three crosses to Mill Reefs dam you'd think it could go further than 1000m

Showed good judgment there djebel , ya know factor in that horse came from Rosehill to Kembla ( decent trip there and back) first start in a race and although on paper was 1000 he would have to be ready for at least 1200 to cope imo, to me it's a barrier trial with money at the end of it , they have to kick off somewhere , well done.

Shows the great uncertaintly in racing.  Here's the dam's prior breeding record:

Charlotta by Medaglia D'Oro.  2 start maiden, the last being 10th of 12 over 1600 at $101
Chillaxing By High Chaparral. 8 start maiden, last start10th of 13 over 1750m at $201
Missari by More Than Ready. 2 start maiden, beaten 11 lengths in Darwin at its last start.

And here this one wins over 1000m on debut!  Marvelous stuff.

Well this has gone quiet, but here's some really interesting stuff to consider:

The three hopeless performers mentioned above, plus a later Street Boss yearling who's yet to race, averaged less than $80k when offered for sale.

However this particular debut winning 3yo brought $260k at auction despite the fact that all his exposed siblings had been totally awful on the track.

Must surely have been an outstandingly conformed yearling to bring any where near that price.  Shocked

Pardon my ignorance, Djebel, but has Choisir thrown many good stayers?  Even to staying bred mares?

I am genuinely curious as most of my mares are stamina lines.  Choisir and his line has never struck me as much of an option for my mares.

Not quite answering your question but interesting to see Choisir in this pedigree. Sasko in the last at Warnnambol.

pity more people didn't use Carlton House.  He had a nice pedigree and a stakes winner today from 56 foals.  Some have hundreds and never get one.

Did he end up overseas or retired completely.

Yes I've seen that in studbook there is no info of travel so can only assume infertile or they dropped him and couldn't sell him?
