Climate change has hit a brick wall...    Didn't kill anyone this year but it's Rival Pandemic has scored daily.
I'm putting Greta into the "deadPool" thread ,    She must be down at the loss of headlines.

Greta has certainly gone silent .  Thank heavens.  They tell us to look to our mental health, and seeing her dreary face on TV doesnt  do much to cheer one up.

It took 400 pages of crap and a global pandemic to finally get around to Greta jokes.

Makes sense that the worlds population has to be culled as we increase the lifespan of the aged and other non productive inhabitants.

I agree Max . If we want to cut down our carbon footprint we have to either get rid of half the current population of humans or else we could try living the way our forebears did in about 1800! Neither of which seem very realistic. I found this new documentary refreshingly honest because it called out the myth of solar and wind power being the answer and points out the hypocrisy of the “ biofuel” industry . And also pointed out who is financing most of the Environmental organisations, which is basically all the usual suspects, big banks and billionaires etc.

Can't believe this thread is still going these days. Isn't it time to just make it a space for Greta jokes?

Environmental scientist and climate write Dana Nuccitelli tweeted, "There is soooooooo much misleading junk in this film. Most of it is focused on biomass from wood, which supplies 2% of energy in the US. And wind turbines are bad because ... they only last several decades and NIMBYs don't like them? I yelled at the screen 3 times watching this."

"The film is an unsubstantiated, unscientific, poorly made piece of yellow journalism which attacks proven renewable energy and science."

He adds, "The film irresponsibly ignores the decades of peer-reviewed climate & energy science that goes into the current environmental movement," and goes on to say, "The film disregards the #GreenNewDeal, the 100% renewable energy plans of Stanford University and others, the @BernieSanders campaign and the basic foundations of science upon which renewable energy policy."

I’m not surprised that the modern Environmental activists are slamming the film . They don’t come out of it very well. The doco was made by long term left wing as they come dedicated environmentalists who believe the whole Movement has lost its way. The Biomass part of the film was illustrating this because while it might be only 2% of renewable energy none of the big environmental organisations will condemn it. The implication is that the same people who are making money by woodchipping forests for fuel are the same people who finance the activist organisations. The main point brought out by the doco is that solar and wind power are not only unreliable but their manufacture produces more carbon than burning coal in a tradition power plant goes.
