Spot on macca, the 24/7 worldwide news cycle has some of the older folk confused.they think the world is being turned upside down.
I suggested to my dottery uncle that he Stop watching the country wide traffic whip around on sunrise each morning and then he won’t get so worked up about the driving skills of his fellow citizens More accidents now than ever, he bellowed

In case it's of any interest, 'my' weather man's conspiracy (???) opinions offered during the week:
I mentioned a few months ago that from here on in, a lot of bad things are going to happen, with Agenda 21 now in the final straight, but the main focus is now climate change, and the propaganda is now going into overdrive. In the last few days, many industry giants are now committing to destroy life as we know it, committing to halve emissions as a start point, in years to come, there will be shortages of power, if any at all, and shortages of every other human resource, as the plan to destroy the Western World is finalised. Floods, cyclones, tornadoes, hailstorms, heatwaves and bushfires are all going to happen, and I can already tell you what the headlines will be afterwards, and it will be alleged that we are the cause of it, so we will need to move into poverty to fix it. That is a good primer for the type of weather that is coming between now and Christmas, we will witness all of these things, in most areas that people live, and mostly just heatwaves away from the general population. Next week further weak fronts push South and try counter act the heat that keeps pushing South, trying to get into Southern areas, but so far to no avail, as the cooler air has managed to keep it trapped in Northern Australia. Huge storms are continuing to
fire in Eastern Australia, QLD is being decimated with gigantic
hailstones, and yesterday Coffs Harbour had a turn of seeing a huge
hailstorm. We may have to come up with something different for these climate events, because whatever this one is, it is not a La Nina, it is behaving totally different. In the last 4 week, as seen above, the SST have changed to the opposite of what we expect, warming in most of the Pacific, warming also South of us, and across the Southern Indian Ocean, and the only area that looks a bit normal is off the QLD coast, where it should warm. This is going to affect the
global temperatures around December or January, as it takes a few months
for this warming to show up in the temperatures, and then also affect
weather patterns because of it. Above is a precursor to what life is going to look like in the next few years, the days of enjoying heavy rainfall across NSW, done for the Chinese as they own most of the MDB, will be a distant memory, as this heating in the lower and mid levels begins to escalate. No fronts, no moisture, no MJO, and no AAO, but La Nina levels of the Southern Oscillation Index means that the number is only just that, a number, as there is no effect of it to be seen anywhere near Australia.

We have these patterns all the time and their severity seems to be , on how much media cover they attract. Global Warming / Climate Change Disappeared. We got relief from the Damage of that ugly , screwed face of young Greta . Pleasant break. All because the madness and all consuming theories of Covid took over , along came the Delta Strain and now , it is run and change the subject , at any price . Following Rupert tapping Sky on the shoulder and telling them climate change is real, the Nationals have agreed in principle(irony much) to Net Zero 2050 in a desperate bid to rescue the Coalition from an Albo election blitz.
Everything has a price, including ''conservative principles'' Their cultish disciples can make their own arrangements on how they handle their own grieving process. |

Five Asian countries account for 80% of new coal power investmentThis article is more than 3 months old China, India, Indonesia, Japan and Vietnam plan to build more than 600 coal power units Five Asian countries are jeopardising global climate ambitions by investing in 80% of the world’s planned new coal plants, according to a report. Carbon Tracker, a financial thinktank, has found that China, India, Indonesia, Japan and Vietnam plan to build more than 600 coal power units, even though renewable energy is cheaper than most new coal plants. The investments in one of the most environmentally damaging sources of energy could generate a total of 300 gigawatts of energy – enough to power the UK more than three times over – despite calls from climate experts at the UN for all new coal plants to be cancelled. Catharina Hillenbrand von der Neyen, the author of the report, said: “These last bastions of coal power are swimming against the tide, when renewables offer a cheaper solution that supports global climate targets. Investors should steer clear of new coal projects, many of which are likely to generate negative returns from the outset.” While Asia continues to plough money into coal plants, countries across the developed world are accelerating plans to phase them out. The UK government has announced plans to bring forward the deadline for coal plants to be decommissioned The new deadline for coal power, which made up 1.5% of electricity in the last quarter of 2020, received a muted response from green groups because it will force the shutdown of only one coal plant, at Ratcliffe-on-Soar in Nottinghamshire, after the West Burton A power plant shuts in September 2022. Alok Sharma, the president-designate of the Cop26 UN climate talks in Glasgow later this year, said the government’s “decisive step” would send a “clear signal to friends around the world that clean power is the way forward”. “The impact of this step will be far greater if we can bring the world with us, and so our desire to support a clean and just energy transition is central to my discussions on the road to Cop26,” he said. China is the world’s leading coal investor, with plans to increase its existing 1,100-gigawatt fleet of coal-fired power plants by another 187 gigawatts, according to the report. Carbon Tracker claims that solar and windfarms could already generate cheaper electricity than more than 85% of the country’s existing coal plants, and that by 2024 renewable energy will be able to outcompete all coal-fired power. In India, the world’s second largest coal power generator, and Indonesia, renewable energy will also be able to outcompete coal by 2024, while in Japan and Vietnam coal will be uneconomic compared with renewables by 2022. Guardian June 30 2021 China has 1080gw of installed coal power, with another 100gw in construction and another 87gw planned. Australia has 35gw. China produces our yearly emissions total roughly every 14 days. If Australia goes to net zero, China will exceed that on day 15, and then proceed with another 187gw building spree. |

it's true we are only a small contributor to greenhouse emissions but then it is also true that Australia's carbon footprint is shameful. When exports are taken into account our we are nine times higher than China. Without exports we are still outputting more than China (not for long) more than the USA and more than most countries.
And last time I looked we are all sharing the same atmosphere. |

Hilarious Marble , So what are you suggesting . ?
We leave all resources in the ground , destroy all of our livestock and live off land sales to China. Time Mrs Marble took you in hand again. |

The climate change argument is almost done maxie, time to flip it over.
Neophyte renewables hero SliMo From Announcements is leading the charge in Glasgow with Rupe's blessing next week, Barnyard has been paid his bounty, the deal is done. Just remains to be seen whether Canavan leads a new flat earth party you can jump onto or whether he and his Neanderthals join Craig and Clive.
Time to drop your horse and buggy nonsense and get onboard the new shiny clean energy electric train of the future maxie. Miss that train and you might as well beg China for their scraps to survive out collapsing economy and standard of living. |

The price of thermal coal has increased from $67 a tonne to over $300 in the last year due to China's insatiable demand. I can see Caravan's point of view. It's hopeless until the big emitters drastically reduce and clearly they are not.
Air conditioned pole house - there's my solution to global warming. Paid for out of my coal mining shares.

ah macca - yes leave coal in the ground, or just use it as a prop in parliament. and you have to understand mrs marble is very conscious of her footprint on the earth so no need to take me in hand, she agrees with my tree hugging views. I hope horse racing is carbon neutral!

Look out marble, horses produce methane. Plus it's animal cruelty. In 50 years horse racing will be seen as some strange relic of a primitive age.
