Great run by Elvis(Excelleration) yesterday, with new tactics having to be used with him drawing closer to the paint than he has before, but the post was too close at the end
A flood of money came for the Hawkes Horse, by Aga Khan's Siyouni,  San Fabrizio (finished 2nd a 0.2l in front of elvis) all brought undone by the 80/1 pop
One thing is certain there will be a couple of interesting sectionals from that race

After a disappointing run at Naracoorte on Sunday, Sixtyfourth Street is going to back up today with D Lane at the Bool. Also got Intense going around tomorrow with Yendall on.

Should be a big few days.

Don’t like to pull much attention, but bred Eligere, winner the first in HK yesterday, by Choisir x Smytzers Roylani, half-brother to Jersey Lily. Also bred winner Balranald 2 weeks ago, by Foxwedge x Cannons Crown.

We have a few busy days coming up.

Mottram at Pakenham on Thursday evening.  Nowhere near fit and essentially just a barrier trial to tighten him up and see how he handles the synthetic.
Vancity at Cranbourne on Friday evening.  Has ability but will be far better as an older filly over more ground.  Pass mark if she could run 3rd or 4th.
Vinlago at Flemington on Saturday.  Stable has passed up winnable races due to rain affected tracks however you'd think he'd need to improve to be a winning chance.
Yulong January. No equity in him but rather one we bred.  Should be close to fully fit now and hopefully pretty competitive.

Thanks Dizzy, terrific run.  Prebble elected to follow the favored horses but they took him no-where.  Clear run and we go very close.  $6+ the place was nice.

As for the others:

Mottram was great first up, fat as a fool but running 3rd a nose out of 2nd.
Vancity scratched due to a poor draw.
Yulong January rounded off the day really well by winning decisively.

Great stuff SC - well done!

My old man had a significant birthday last year and I gave him an all expenses paid share in a lovely Shalaa yearling filly. She makes her debut today - Ice on Fire in the last at Queanbeyan. Should go well.

I think he fits into both categories! It’s like a who’s who of Canberra racing from the 80s - conjured memories of Digger Stakas.

Vancity goes around in Race 2 at Ballarat.  Heavy 9 and have no idea how she'll handle it.  The hot fav looks unbeatable.  Ours will get better with age and over a bit more ground.

Delighted with her run GAJ.  Settled last, turned for home about 6 lengths off the leader and got beat 1 3/4 lengths into 2nd.

We're firing now after a very lean 12 months, so am hoping Bring The Stars (very small interest in him) can run well in the third at Flemington on Saturday.

BOL SC, We are going somewhere end of week, either Coffs Harbour Friday or Goldy Saturday, The mare 'I'll Miss You' prefers the track at Coffs but maybe not its condition, hoping it dries out a bit.

Difficult for you GAJ, given she's no good on the heavy.  If fit enough suspect I'd be filling up the petrol tank.

BOL whatever you decide.

Slaughtered big time at Bendigo by a senior jockey who to his eternal discredit declined to admit he totally stuffed up*.

Engaged at Flemington in Race 3 over 1400m on Saturday.  Strong field of 2yo's and wish it were over 1600m, but we're hoping for a very competitive performance before going for a spell.

Andrea Mantegna has had a couple of tick-over runs in Victoria for Andrew Bobbin, he has now made his way back to David Jolly in SA where he will head to Morphettville for a few races now. We are hoping to get him up to the Darwin Cup in August.

Mrs CG had her horse Scottish Dancer also kick off his prep with Andrew Bobbin at Ballarat this week. The jockey fell asleep at the wheel and it was a complete waste of time. Second up, firmer ground and perhaps a more competent rider and he will be hard to beat.

A very difficult watch.  Fizzed up in the mounting yard and hung in appallingly, but still beaten only 2 lengths.  Totally frustrating and needs to dramatically improve his behavior if he's ever going to demonstrate his latent ability.

That would certainly help Shawy.  Thumbs Up

Though the hanging business might be green-ness or pain related which is another question mark.  But frustrating either way.
